They were very nice, but bright silver, so I painted one set black and the other cream, then removed some of the paint once the pieces dried. I found a chess board image online which I printed out. It still needs thicker cardboard backing, but it's looking good....
I was looking for a small scale chess set that would work for my dolls, and came across a shop on Etsy that was selling sets of chess men charms. They looked to be about the right size for 1/4 scale dolls, so I ordered two sets.
They were very nice, but bright silver, so I painted one set black and the other cream, then removed some of the paint once the pieces dried. I found a chess board image online which I printed out. April 29th is officially Eeyore's birthday. I have no idea who came up with that, but a few of my little girls decided to throw him a party.... And that brings us to the end of Special Days for April 2021. Revisit them all Here.
April 19th was Bicycle Day, and I had Owen and Leona's family all set to go on a bike ride. But the weather just didn't want to cooperate. We took them out several times but it was either too cold, too rainy, too snowy, too sunny, or way too windy. Then the place closest to home had all new 'No Parking' signs along all the streets, and my 'go to' road in the country had a pile of dirt on one end, and ugly black construction fences on the other, so we had to find someplace new. We finally found a chained off driveway to a boarded up, expropriated, century house, in the middle of all the new subdivision construction devastation. The sign said 'No Trespassing', but we ducked under the chain so Owen and Leona's family could finally have their little bike ride... Everyone was a bit stiff and out of shape, from being in their boxes for so long, so it was a bit of a struggle at first...
The next couple to take a ride through the blue meadow were Lawrence and Monica. It started out cloudy, but then turned to hazy sun, and it was extremely windy....
On our way to the scilla fields we spotted a tree stump covered with bracket fungus, and Tillie wanted to take a closer look at the snails....
Earlier this month I received a bouquet of beautiful roses. Unfortunately they must have been a bad batch since they started to droop almost right away.... Well, I watched them wither away, then just before heading to the compost pile I decided to use them in some photos, with three little rose coloured fairies....Lenny, Raillie, and Cinnamon...
