Baby Elf

I've had an adorable little DreamHigh Studio Baby Elf for a few months now. Way back in the end of May when Donny was getting ready to send out Otto, the Otter, I wrote to him to ask that he not send me my Otto for a while yet, as we were going away for several weeks on a trip. Then he offered to send me the Baby Elf I'd ordered, early, as a compensation for having to wait so much longer to receive my Otto. So the two of them arrived together a few months later, in August.

I assumed that my Baby Elf was one of his samples that he used for the promo photos, as no one else had theirs yet. Then in August he released multiple face plates for the Baby Elf (sleeping, pouty, smiling) as well as offering everyone another opportunity to order the Baby Elf. So, the wait time for the much earlier pre-order from May, was pushed back even further. Yet, I already had mine, and was avoiding posting photos, knowing the reaction I'd get from others still waiting for theirs. I really didn't want to deal with the drama. But hopefully everyone will be getting their Baby Elves soon, so it's probably safe to share some photos of mine now.

My plan was always to have the Baby Elf, with its cute little elf ears, be Agnes and Matias' baby.

She was the perfect size, but I thought she needed some hair...

She needed some fine little wisps, but I thought an actual wig would make her head look too big, so I painted her hair on instead...

Baking Cookies

Winter Construction

November 30th was National Construction Day, and with the Holiday season slow-down fast approaching, the construction company CEO, went out to the building site to check on the progress with the site foreman.

"We are making good progress."

"The severe cold and snow have held off so far."

"So we are trying to complete as many exteriors as we can before winter really moves in."

"Well, it's looking good."

"We seem to be right on schedule."

"And if we can get as many units enclosed before the extreme cold and snow...."

"We can spend the rest of the winter completing the interiors."

"We'll be right on target for occupancy some time early next summer."

A Ruby Red Christmas

I have to confess that I've owned two Ruby Red Fashion Friends dolls for well over a year now. They are very cute, happy-looking vinyl dolls, and currently very popular with collectors. I have Sara and Bella since autumn of 2022, but I've just never posted any photos of them. Well, a few weeks ago I decided that needed to change, and with the Canadian distributor having a big sale, I purchased Alex so I'd have a boy as well.
Then I decided to see what I could do with them in my Christmas set....

I tried one of my JID sweaters on Sara, and it fit perfectly with the sleeve cuffs rolled back...

Bella's outfit was way too 'summery' for a cold Canadian winter, so I sewed her some leggings and a long-sleeve T-shirt...

And then there is Alex, with his cute freckles. I especially love his blonde wig.

I get the impression that most people collect these RRFF dolls to just stand on display, but that's not what I buy dolls for. At my house they have to be little actors starring in a wide variety of stories.
