Baby Elf

I've had an adorable little DreamHigh Studio Baby Elf for a few months now. Way back in the end of May when Donny was getting ready to send out Otto, the Otter, I wrote to him to ask that he not send me my Otto for a while yet, as we were going away for several weeks on a trip. Then he offered to send me the Baby Elf I'd ordered, early, as a compensation for having to wait so much longer to receive my Otto. So the two of them arrived together a few months later, in August.

I assumed that my Baby Elf was one of his samples that he used for the promo photos, as no one else had theirs yet. Then in August he released multiple face plates for the Baby Elf (sleeping, pouty, smiling) as well as offering everyone another opportunity to order the Baby Elf. So, the wait time for the much earlier pre-order from May, was pushed back even further. Yet, I already had mine, and was avoiding posting photos, knowing the reaction I'd get from others still waiting for theirs. I really didn't want to deal with the drama. But hopefully everyone will be getting their Baby Elves soon, so it's probably safe to share some photos of mine now.

My plan was always to have the Baby Elf, with its cute little elf ears, be Agnes and Matias' baby.

She was the perfect size, but I thought she needed some hair...

She needed some fine little wisps, but I thought an actual wig would make her head look too big, so I painted her hair on instead...

She's adorable. Back when DreamHighStudio released the baby elf, I wondered if you wouldn't order one. It's just such a cute sculpt, I didn't think you would pass it up, but now that I see it with the Fashion doll size, I know it would've been a little too large to be the baby in your DreamHigh elf family like I originally thought. Still, she's so cute as Matias and Agnes' baby and now Naomi and Baron's kiddos will have a cousin.

Yes, I couldn't resist. But, like you, I thought she'd be a bit big to be an actual baby to my elf family. She is smaller than the Avery twins, but I just couldn't picture poor Daisy having given birth to such a big baby. But that doesn't mean she can't be called upon to babysit from time to time.

Well, it's not like she's a newborn. She's probably closer to one, so can have most of her teeth.

She is adorable. Did I miss her name?
I love how you painted her hair. It's the perfect color.

2023 was the Year of the Baby, I think. Many couples had babies and there were several sets of twins. I am looking forward to more fun family stories in 2024.
