Meanwhile, Miho had called Winston, and it seemed urgent. She told him that she had foreseen that he was about to meet a new, very special friend... ..and that he needed to go to the King's castle to see Baron...right away.... Copyright © 2022 Martha Boers
All Rights Reserved The little Elf delegation finally arrived at the castle... ..with Willie leading the way. The elves were impressed with the beautiful architecture... "This is a really beautiful complex." "..and everything is so BIG!!" "If you'd follow me, we need to make our way to the Great Hall." ..and they went with her. But the Elf delegation was awestruck... "Look at those magnificent buildings!:" "I've never seen anything like them." "Some of them are hundreds of years old." "But, gentlemen...the King is waiting. So if you'd kindly follow me." All Rights Reserved What? The story has just begun and I'm already interupting? Yes. Because yesterday we learned that Donny Harijanto, Mr. DreamHigh Studio himself, and the creator of all the House Elves, had been very ill in hospital with Covid the past two weeks, and was now recovering at home. I felt compelled to put together a little Get Well Soon 'card' for him.... We all hope he recovers quickly and feels much better soon! And...tomorrow we go back to our story, A Tale of Two Dragons.

The delegation included Archibald, their High Aldwin.... ...Sir Nolan, their highest ranking General... ...who rode a beautiful purple dragon... ..and Sir Gino, who rode a not particularly fierce looking polar bear. They had already travelled a long way... ...when they met Willie. The King had appointed her as Ambassador to the Elves since she was from their kingdom originally. As the King's representative it was her job to welcome the visitors and accompany them the rest of the way. Copyright © 2022 Martha Boers
All Rights Reserved My sister and I are currently working on another book, this time featuring Winston, the dragon. We had to solve the problem of him being friends with almost everyone, and having been on all kinds of adventures, and in all kinds of time periods, and there not being any way to make a cohesive story. Then Marianne came up with the idea of making the book Winston's personal Photo Album, with the best photos of him throughout the years. She gave it a vintage look with old, yellowed pages, and the 'photos' held in with old fashioned photo corners, and sometimes even with tape. All the text would be 'handwritten' in by Winston himself. The photos appear pretty much in chronological order, sometimes telling short stories, and sometimes not. The book is a lot of fun, and makes me smile. We are at the final editing stage and I'm excited to share a little sneak preview.... First, the wonderful cover.... ..and then a few of the pages.... The last three spreads tell the story of him meeting Saphira, but since I've not started posting their story yet, I will keep those pages a secret for now. The final two-page spread will, like the Fairy book, have photos of each and every friend of his that appears in the book. There are sixty one in all, and this is just the first page.... There are 88 pages in all (including the covers) with 184 photos (not including the Friends on the final spread) so it's the biggest book so far. As a result it will end up costing a little more than the Fairy book. So I've haven't decided if I will order a limited number of copies for the public or not. I guess it will depend on the response.
Anyways, it's a wonderful book and I can't wait to see it in print!! The biggest adventure was taking dolls along in the canoe out Chikanishing Creek to the shores of Georgian Bay. Two of my doll boxes will fit into my one cloth bag, and two dolls would fit into each box, so four of the girls got to come along. Then the cloth bag was put into a big garbage bag to keep everything dry. I also took along Winston and Saphira in pretty much the same way, but that story is for another time. With my spinal arthritis I can's paddle, or even sit in a canoe for very long, but I still like to take a look out along the coast, so I make the effort. We always get out at the mouth of the creek for a look around. The view from high up on the rocks is spectacular, and I wanted to take some photos of my girls up there. However it being a clear sunny day, and resin not much loving the sun, I needed some shade for when I was setting up the dolls.... He'd step away when I took the photos.... I also asked him to hold the dolls individually so I could take some close ups. But he was too captivated by the scenery to really pay much attention.... Back at the campground I had wanted to take some photos of the girl's campsite. Fortunately all the other campers along the water had left by Sunday afternoon, so we had the place pretty much to ourselves. Which is just how I prefer it, with no one watching. I set up the girl's campsite... ...and got down to take photos.... Unfortunately I suffer from considerable back pain and it had become increasingly more difficult to get down on the ground (and up again), so I was only able to photograph the one set-up. There would be no getting up to change poses, get down again and shoot some more. Even so, I totally over-did it and am still paying for it weeks later. So I guess I shouldn't be doing that anymore. It's very disheartening since some of my best photos over the years were taken while laying down on the ground.
