I had another Polar Bear photo scenario in mind for today - like going out in a blizzard twice already wasn't enough! This time it's my three little Kaye Wiggs girls - Cinnamon, Tillie, and Tiny Talyssa....  But again, not a lot of variety, just one different camera angle....  Because as much as I love the snow, I'm not the biggest fan of the serious sub-zero temperatures.
Tillie looks like she isn't either, although the other two don't seem to mind. Well, today we have yet another snowstorm. Seems we have one every Wednesday this February. And once again all the school buses were cancelled, but schools remained open, so anyone living within walking distance still had to go. Like Aaron and Angela....  I took lots of photos knowing there'd be snowflakes in their faces in many of them....  They don't mind going to school on a snow day. There's hardly anyone there then, so they get to do lots of fun, out-of-the-ordinary stuff....  ...so off they went....  Today is 'National Polar Bear Day', and what could be more appropriate than having yet another snow storm. A polar bear would feel right at home!! So I took some dolls out in the storm to take some photos....  Kyle and Aeran, lost and struggling, in the blizzard. I had to take plenty of photos in order to get some without too many snowflakes in their faces.  And who should arrive to lead them to safety out of the storm, but Willie and Snowflake....   I just added four more of my favourite costumes to Just Patterns....
I have also added the Ballgown pdf to the Victorian Ballgown Creative Journey in Tutorials. Using the patterns in conjunction with the photos and descriptions there should make it easier. I did plan on making a Creative Journey for the Walking Dress redo as well - was surprised it wasn't there when I went to add the pdf. I guess I just haven't gotten around to it yet. But when I do, that might help with making the Walking Dress as well.
When I made wings for Kassia as a 'Snow Fairy' a while back, I also made some to go with Miho's pale green gown. I envisioned photographing her as a 'Spring Fairy', bringing those first signs of new life to the end of a long cold winter.....   The bunnies are excited to see the first tiny flowers popping through the snow....   The owl is also happy to get a little warm sunshine on his wings...   I've started a 'Winter Fantasy' album in Favourite Photos 2019, that include the photos of Kassia as the Winter Fairy, Miho as a Spring Fairy, and the first two photo sessions of Willie meeting Winston in the snow on the way to his surprise party. I went out three times to take photos, and was never fully happy with them, but ended up using the final set, so the first ones were never shown, mainly because of the inconsistency of the number of balloons Willie had tied to her sleigh - so couldn't mix them. But I did include them in the 'Winter Fantasy' album.
Today is National Tortilla Chips Day, so I prepared some for my kids to try several different ways.  Efreet and Byuri were enjoying my famous chip dip...  Coco was loving the baked nachos....  Erzulie was enjoying both....  But Ringo just wanted the nachos straight out of the bag. I suspect he was afraid to try anything new.  "Are you sure you don't want to try some of this dip?? It's delicious!!"  "No, I'm good. I like them plain"  "Well, your loss.....and more for us then."  Then Coco and Erzulie sat down to share the platter of baked nachos......"Yummm!"  The Pet Pillows are up for sale! The Cat Pillows designs...  The Dog Pillows designs...  Pillows are 4.5" (11.5 cm) square with a colour-coordinated print background. This is how they work size-wise with Iplehouse BIDs, KIDs, and JID...   ...and with an SD size Kaye Wiggs Nelly...  It's been a bit complicated to figure out how to offer them, since even though there are nine different images for both, many of the images come with two, and sometimes three, different coloured inner borders, and the fabric backings are colour coordinated to match those colours.

Ringo and Efreet had been waiting patiently to give Winston their gift....   "This is from us..."  "Wow! Cookies, marshmallows, and chocolate!!"  "It's a S'mores kit!!"  'I LOVE making these!! They are my favourite! Thank you so much!"  With the last of the gifts opened, it was time for cake and treats, and one last photo of Winston, the birthday dragon!  It had been his best birthday ever!!

Peach and Bonnie had chipped in to give him a fire extinguisher.....  'Wow, this will come in very handy.....especially when I accidentally set something on fire!!"  Then Chloe stepped forward with her gift....  "Happy Birthday Winston!!"  Everyone wanted to see what was in it....  "Wow, it's matches!! Boxes full of matches!!"  "What does a dragon need matches for?? Doesn't he breathe fire??"  "Yes, but when they get a cold, or a tummy ache, their flame can go out...."  "So if that happens, all he has to do is light one of these, and breathe it in, and it's fixed!" "Wow, that's so thoughtful of you!!"  "Thanks! That's what I thought!"  |
