This year I decided to focus on my small Kaye Wiggs girls, since it's the very first Halloween for four of them. So, after finishing their pumpkins, they all got dressed up for some group photos....
All the kids dressed up for Halloween back in 2017.... That's ALL the KIDs, BIDs, and small Kaye Wiggs dolls I had at the time. There's been several more arrivals since then (3 BIDs, 1 KID, 4 KW girls, plus I'm currently waiting for another BID & KID) so I doubt I would ever attempt an entire group again.
It's a ton of work to dress that many dolls, plus I wouldn't have nearly enough costumes. Thankfully, the Fantasy, Medieval, Elf and Fairy outfits can double as Halloween costumes, but I'd still need at least ten more new ones. *To go to the album to get a closer look at the costumes, click on the photo above. Yvette's boyfriend arrived today. He's an Iplehouse FID Edan, in Special Real skin, with Makeup B. I was a bit surprised, since I had asked them not to add the four big dark moles, which they agreed to, but they left off all his lighter freckles as well. His face has an unusual shine to it, that none of my other dolls have. At first I hoped was from the cold, but it hasn't faded. It makes him look hot and sweaty. I'm told a new coat of matte sealer should fix it, but I have no idea if the spray available here is even compatible with whatever IH uses. I'll need to make him a wig, but for now I just gave him Lawrence's contemporary wig. It's the only guy's wig I have his size, so there was no choice. Anyways, He needed something to wear, and I don't have a lot of selection. Just a tuxedo, and Rex's Outlander outfit. So it would depend on what outfit Yvette looked nicest in, since I had something that would go with either option. She looked best in the gown originally made for Rosie. Which meant 'formal' wear for Edan as well. But he looked wrong in the tux, so went with something a little more casual. And since he arrived today, the day before Halloween, and I had tiny carved pumpkins sitting around from an earlier photo shoot, I thought I'd take some photos of him with Yvette.... She's obviously already cast her spell on him.... They could both use some blushing and manicures (everyone who arrived this year could) but it's not been possible to get any of my dolls worked on yet this year... I think they work very nicely together. now I just need to make him his own wig, and an outfit, so she can go back into her blue Medieval fantasy gown...
I've created the albums for Sena's Birthday story in Favourite Photos 2020, so now it's easier to read in it's entirety, in order, and without the other daily posts interrupting.
Just click on the photo below.... Cinnamon was watching the others clean out their pumpkins.... "I don't like scary pumpkins..." "What if we carve some cute cat faces instead??" "That's actually a great idea. But I've never done that before...." "Well, Rags here, can be our model.." So they set to work.... And before too long, the first Cat-o-Lanterns were done....
Halloween was coming soon, so it wartime to carve their pumpkins. It's a rather messy job, so I suggested they do it outside....
Some Behind-the-Scene shots from Sena's birthday story.... First, of Leona making the cake....on my kitchen counter.... I wanted a 'wardrobe', but the old jewelry box I had wasn't quite tall enough.... So Jan built an extension out of scraps of mahogany, to fit underneath.... After staining and varnishing, it was a perfect match.... The bedroom used the old Art Studio walls. For the bed, I pushed one of the Victorian sofas up against the fireplace to create a headboard. The rest of the bed is made of an old, acrylic, record-player lid, covered with a folded towel, and some print fabric intended to become a shirt for me some day. It was a huge piece, and folded inside out, but I was lazy, so just used with the more muted, wrong side out. Much of the furniture is 'heirloom', passed down from Victorian times, so to give the room a more contemporary feel, I hung up some floral paintings, as well as the needlepoint birds (passed down from Victorian Times), and tossed a pile of modern print pillows on the bed. To give the wardrobe a 'magical glow' inside, I duct-taped a string of Christmas lights inside.... Sometimes one or two lights showed in a photo, and I tried blowing it out with a 'lens flare', but I thought it seemed like too much, so in the end I didn't post any of those. The party scenes on the patio were shot a month ago, in September, when the garden was still nice. Like usual, I set up on the patio table, but I switched out the huge red begonia in the urn in the background, for my streptocarpus with the small purple flowers.... The scene set up on the patio, with pots of million bells around the edges.... The final, cropped-in photo, taken at the doll's eye level.....
This year it's my small Kaye Wiggs dolls who are getting a turn at Halloween, since other than occasionally participating in dressing up, they've never had the opportunity to go out to get pumpkins, or carve them. So we all went out to the country one fine fall day....
