I noticed the clover is in bloom, so I had to take advantage of it and take some fairy pictures. The sun was very low in the sky, and I thought I'd try back-lit photos. I'd made a little sleeve of white cotton to cover my pop-up flash. The little sleeve is one layer of fabric on one side, and two on the other. It helps mute the brightness of my flash, so I can fill in the dark shadows on back-lit photos
"Honey, I've joined the Musketeers" "But, why?? I thought you were done with adventure." "I am. But my buddy is heading off on an adventure with a Prince, some elves and a Hobbit, and he needed something suitably authoritarian to wear to lead them - so we switched uniforms. So now, while he's gone, I'm temporarily the Queen of the Night's personal bodyguard" "Oh my, that's a very risky job! I hope it won't be for too long, and that you'll be careful." So Kyle stepped in as a temporary Musketeer. It was either that, or stand around naked for a month, since there's no spare men's clothes for him to wear while his Boromir outfit is on loan.
I'm not so sure his beloved Aeran thinks he made the right choice. Although he does look very dashing! If the dogs are going to come along in the RV, then they need to be clean. So some of the kids decided to give them a bath. "Make sure you scrub them everywhere!" Holly had a pile of towels to dry them off....
Holly in her new outfit, with her new hairstyle, is enjoying her new book, outside in her new chair.
Both Lonnie and Holly have new outfits for their upcoming trip. Holly also has a new hair style. It's the same as Bonnie's curly blonde wig from Fatio, but in 'caramel'. On the weekend we went to visit our daughter and her family. My son-in-law
gave me a rattan chair that he intercepted at his Mom's garage sale. I'm super busy making some new travel clothes for my dolls. There's just one week left, and I have 6 T-shirts, 2 pairs of leggings, and two summer dresses under construction. I'd also like to make a studded leather vest for Coco, just in case I feel inspired to take some Fantasy photos. His Hobbit outfit doesn't quite live up to what everyone else will be wearing, so a studded leather vest would help elevate that.
Frogs began hopping everywhere... Rats and frogs were everywhere! What a disaster! "Next time it's 'Take a Kid to Work' Day", thought Leona,
"I'm locking up my lab and calling in sick!" The jean overalls from TTYA on Etsy arrived this morning! They never showed up on tracking, and I was starting to worry that they wouldn't arrive before we leave on our trip, so they came as a complete surprise! They are amazing! So beautifully sewn, and the whole top is lined. I love the light crease marks too!
So I put the first pair on Ringo. The straps and bib are much too long, so I tucked the back bib down into the pants. It will need to be permanently sewn down. Since the top and legs were so long, I thought I'd try it on a KID to see how it would fit them. The top fit perfectly, but the legs are too short. It reminds me of Tom Sawyer or Huckleberry Finn still wearing a pair of pants they've outgrown.....or a boy who's just had a growth spurt.... |
