Iplehouse Real Skin Resin Comparison.

6/7/2016

My two new dolls arrived last week, so I thought I'd take a comparison picture of the real skin resin.

When I first unpacked the two new dolls, I didn't see any difference at all between the Glow and regular Real Skin - not in the colour, or the supposed translucency in the Glow. In natural light there does appear to be a very slight difference. The Glow resin appeared a bit darker.

In this photo "I" does appear a bit redder, but she's no more translucent that Chloe, who is the regular real skin. I've included Elin for comparison. She is the original Iplehouse real skin with the French resin in the formula, which always had a yellowish tone to it.
Picture
I don't know if Iplehouse made a mistake, and made BOTH dolls in Glow real skin, or BOTH in regular real skin. Chloe seems more shiny and less pink than my last two real skin dolls that arrived last summer.  Those dolls were completely matte, and seemed way more pink.  Here they are, with Elin from the photo above.....Elin in the original real skin, and Eric & Nyssa in the current real skin.

Maybe it will become more clear once they are painted.

Kids will be Kids

Elin and Ringo were intrigued by the rats...

But they felt the rats didn't have enough room, so they lifted the lid...

Meanwhile, Efreet lifted the lid off the frogs, so Bonnie could get a better look at them....

Take A Kid To Work Day

6/6/2016

Leona works as a research scientist in the zoo laboratory. ..
Picture
It was 'Take A Kid to Work Day', and because she had animals in her lab,
several of her fellow employee's children came to hang out in her workspace.

Elin and Ringo were drawn to the rats...

...and introduced him...
Picture
Efreet and Bonnie were intrigued by the frogs, so Leona let Bonnie hold one....
Picture
"Why are all these animals here?"
Picture
"Well, it's my job to make sure all the animals in the zoo stay healthy, and sometimes some
of them need a bit of special care, so they come stay with me in my lab for a little while."

May Lee the Scientist

6/5/2016

I found this amazing Our Generation 'Science' set back in the winter and bought it for a certain someone who has a birthday this month. There's a microscope (with working light), a beaker and rack with test tubes, as well as a pair of safety goggles. So I made a lab coat and ID badge to go with it, and of course, I had to test everything out on my own Our Generation doll....

Lilac Fairy

6/2/2016

The main reason we went to Prince Edward County earlier this week, was to see all the lilacs. They are everywhere; old hedgerows surrounding farms, and properties where the buildings are long gone; in rows between the fields, along the sides of the roads, and along the water's edge....
Picture
Most bushes were covered with the biggest flower clusters I've ever seen...
Picture
And of course, I'd brought along some of my fairies.....

Land of the Giants

6/1/2016

When I'm flat on the ground to take a doll picture, it isn't very easy to get up, so I ask Jan to make any small adjustments to the dolls.......and then, while I'm waiting, I can't help but snap a photo of him.  It always makes for such an interesting picture with him in the scene, like my dolls are in the Land of the Giants, or Jan is in Lilliput.   So, which is it?
