Iplehouse Real Skin Resin Comparison.

6/7/2016

My two new dolls arrived last week, so I thought I'd take a comparison picture of the real skin resin.

When I first unpacked the two new dolls, I didn't see any difference at all between the Glow and regular Real Skin - not in the colour, or the supposed translucency in the Glow. In natural light there does appear to be a very slight difference. The Glow resin appeared a bit darker.

In this photo "I" does appear a bit redder, but she's no more translucent that Chloe, who is the regular real skin. I've included Elin for comparison. She is the original Iplehouse real skin with the French resin in the formula, which always had a yellowish tone to it.
Picture
I don't know if Iplehouse made a mistake, and made BOTH dolls in Glow real skin, or BOTH in regular real skin. Chloe seems more shiny and less pink than my last two real skin dolls that arrived last summer.  Those dolls were completely matte, and seemed way more pink.  Here they are, with Elin from the photo above.....Elin in the original real skin, and Eric & Nyssa in the current real skin.
Picture
Maybe it will become more clear once they are painted.

Congratulations!

I is a beauty. Will she become a modern girl like Leona or a fantasy/historical lady like the other ones?

I'd like her to be both. It's nice to have 'contemporary adults' to go with all the kids. I actually wish all my JIDs and MSDs had both kinds of outfits, but it always takes so much time to sews things. Seems like things for sale always have first priority, and even those don't come often.

Once she gets painted, "I" will most likely wear the Pacific Northwest Native regalia, since it's the ONLY spare JID size outfit I have.

Congratulations on getting 2 new dolls *yippee* I can't wait to see them with face-ups now.

And I can't see any difference between the resin colours of your new dolls either.

I wonder if I should send IH a note with a picture, and ask them about it. It's just last time I had an issue with them, they totally blew me off, and I've still not bonded with the doll in question, even several years later.

I am so glad that I don't have to deal with Iplehouse! Give me Dollstown any day, as their customer service is second to none!

If you already like these dolls then you could ask, but if you are ambivalent about either I would suggest you leave it.

It's not so much about colour difference, but that one is supposed to be Glow resin, and I don't see that "I" is noticeably different than Chloe.
