"It sounds like it was a beautiful wedding..."  "It certainly was. And within the year...."  "Lawrence and Monica welcomed their first child."  "A little Princess..."  "The old King was thrilled to meet his granddaughter..."  'She is so beautiful. She has your red hair, and your Mother's eyes."  "Baron went to welcome the new little Princess..."  "...and Lawrence asked him to be her Godfather."  A collection of random photos taken in the royal gardens after the ceremony. The wedding party...

      Time to cut the cake....         I was working on shooting some flashbacks from Baron's life for my 'Somewhere in Time' story, and wasn't even going to tackle Lawrence and Monica's wedding - just mention it in passing - but then was suddenly inspired to try shoot it anyways. However the story only needed a few photos for the flashback, so I decided to put together a separate album with all the wedding photos. At first I tried a few quick photos on the patio....of Lawrence and Monica.....  ...with their bridal party....  ...and with Lawrence's family.... his sister Grace, and his father, the King....  But I wasn't happy with the lighting, and a white card wasn't helping, so I quit, hoping for better light the next day. Getting ReadyThe following photos were taken in the castle just before the ceremony.... The wedding party...  Lawrence had asked Baron to be his Best Man...  The Prince and his bride...   Their immediate family was there with them as well; Lawrence's father, the King; Monica's brother Rex; and Lawrence's sister Grace....  Lawrence's father took the opportunity to welcome Monica to the family....    Everyone was waiting for the ceremony to begin....  Meanwhile, the little flower girl was having trouble keeping the flowers in her basket....  "I believe this is yours, miss..."      "I think we are all ready to go now..."   "The two men were close friends.....but things were about to change..."  "One Christmas, Lawrence met a young, noble lady....and fell in love."  "He asked her to marry him....."  "..and they were wed shortly after." "The Prince asked Baron to be his Best Man." "It was a lovely wedding."  "But Lawrence's carefree bachelor days were over."  Naomi loved hearing about Baron's childhood. "It must have been wonderful to have had such a good friend."  "Yes it was. The two boys were inseparable, and spent a lot of time together."  "They both loved horses....."  "...and could go riding for hours."    "It was something they both enjoyed, and was one of their favourite things to do...."  "...even as they got older."  "The boys were also taught swordsmanship..."  "...and they would practice their skills in the castle gardens...."  "Lawrence's little sister, Grace. would often come out to watch..."   "I think she had a little crush on Baron..."  "Lawrence's father used to tell me that Baron was at their castle so much..."  "that he felt like a second son."  Naomi sat down to breakfast with Baron's Mother. "So, have you seen Baron? Do you know where he is?"  "Yes, he went to see the King. Lawrence has been asking about him for weeks, and wanted to see him as soon as he returned. You were sleeping so soundly, Baron didn't want to wake you so thought he'd let you rest, and he'd go see the King."  "The King?? Your husband, his Father?"  "My goodness no! I am Queen of the Fairies, but Lawrence rules over the Kingdom of Man. He is not my husband. He and Baron are the same age, and have been best friends ever since they were boys. They first met in school. Being my son, Baron was entitled to a formal education befitting his noble status."  "That's where he met the Prince, and the two boys hit it off right away. They enjoyed many of the same things..."  "...and were both excellent students."  The sun was already high in the sky by the time Naomi woke up....  But she was alone... 
Baron had gone...  So she went downstairs to look for him....  "Good morning! I hope you slept well. Won't you join me for a little breakfast?"  "Good morning. Yes, I slept rather well..... thank you."  "If you don't mind my asking, it this what breakfast looks like here every morning?"  "Heavens no! The kitchen staff heard that Baron was back, and that he had a very special young lady with him...."  "I think they wanted to impress you....and went a little overboard..."  "So, please take a seat and try a little."  "Yes, thank you. I will. Have you seen Baron?  Baron went to check on Naomi, and found her sitting on the edge of the bed....  "How are you doing?"  "I'm okay..... but it's still hard for me to believe I'm really here...."  "Could I ask a favour.....would you stay here with me....at least until I fall asleep?"  "Yes, I can stay.....and keep watch.....in case you wake up......"  So Baron kissed her goodnight, and made himself as comfortable as possible in the chair in the corner....  ...and Naomi finally drifted off to sleep....  It looked like it might be a long night....  Baron and Naomi were still talking.....  ...when Miho returned....  "It's getting very late, and it's time to try get some rest...."  "Your rooms have been made ready, and I've also had some night clothes laid out."  "We can talk some more in the morning"  "Thank you. I am rather tired..."  "Then I'll show you to your room..."  |
