Christmases Past

12/23/2022

Why does time fly so fast?  Every year I have big plans, but then Christmas arrives and I'm not ready for it, and my favourite holiday photo stories end up get taken afterwards. This year is no different.  On Facebook I get daily 'Memories' popping up that I can share, but not here on my Blog.  So I thought I'd just share some of the Christmas posts from the past.

Christmas 2016

That year my Mom passed away a few days before Christmas so I didn't get around to shooting Christmas photos until after the New Year...

Santa at the Mall in 2017

That year I had to go for unexpected major surgery in mid December, with just two weeks notice. I had wanted to do a story with my newly completed Santa, so set up a 'mall' set on my dining room table, and spent the last few days leading up to my surgery photographing a different group of dolls every day, saving worried little Ringo to the end....

Santa at the North Pole, 2018

I did a long story starting with the Wizard's goodbye party as he prepared to head up north for his role as Santa. There were so many great photos...

Christmas 2019

There were several Christmas stories that year...

Lawrence and Monica

I had just finished Baron & Lawrence's knight costumes the month before, and was working on Monica's gown, finishing it on Christmas Day...

Christmas During Covid, 2020

I was in the process of photographing the scenes for my upcoming Christmas Story, and didn't have a lot of time for much else.  But I did take advantage of the gingerbread village we made with our son and daughter-in law for her birthday....

A Christmas Story, 2021

Photographed in December before Christmas, and into the new year, then posted in January, it's one of my favourite Christmas stories...

Christmas Stories 2022

Like most years, the best Christmas stories are photographed and posted after the holidays are over, and last Christmas was no exception. So January 2022 started out with 2 Christmas stories...

Christmas at the Castle

Baron and Naomi were invited to spend Christmas with Lawrence and Monica's family...

A Forest Dweller Christmas

I received a shipping notice for the chipmunks and gray mice in mid November, and had wanted to do a Christmas story after they arrived, but they took six weeks to come, and finally arrived on New Year's Eve.  And then they still needed some clothes.  So another 'late' Christmas story....

I hope you enjoy looking back, and revisiting some of these stories from past years. I sure did. Although they also make me feel exhausted knowing just how much work they all were. I don't know if I still have the stamina anymore. But I guess we'll see. It's just two days until Christmas Day, but the Christmas season is far from over. Maybe there's still time to be inspired?

Please know that we, readers, appreciate all of the effort and time you put in to telling your wonderful stories!

I love all of your Christmas stories. I especially love the story from last Christmas about the lost child.

It makes me think that sometimes we all get lost and need to find our way back home. If we are lucky, we find nice people to help us, just like she did.

Thanks for making our Christmases, and all the other days, sunny and bright!

Thank you! I appreciate that. I know I posted a LOT today, but I thought for people stuck at home in this blizzard today, it might be nice to revisit some of the old stories.

I love the Christmas Story with the lost Princess from January 2021. Everything came together perfectly; the dolls; the posing; and all the snow. There's so many wonderful photos, and I'd love to see it turned into a book.

Yes, I can see it as a book also! Maybe you can make a doll size one, with just the cover and blank pages inside, to go along with the big one if it doesn't cost too much to produce.
