Flower Photos

Now that I'm stuck inside, passing the time, taking it easy, I'm rather missing taking photos. There's nothing happening with my dolls ay all right now. But I do have flowers!!

My sister brought over a beautiful bouquet of pale peach roses, pink stocks, and Star Gazer lilies - my favourite. The lilies were all still in bud, and I've enjoyed watching them open....

My daughter-in-law brought a bouquet of lovely yellow roses.....
and of course I had to take a picture of them too...

And there's just one hibiscus in my kitchen, which still continues to bloom. All the others are finished and have been severely pruned - except this gorgeous deep pink and white one....

Event Order

I had been waiting until after my surgery before taking advantage of Iplehouse's annual Holiday Event Sale. Then earlier this week they announced a new KID and BID coming - which they released yesterday. I'm finding their last releases all look so much the same, and so neither really appealed to me. So it was time to decide on my order.

I like some 'character' in my dolls, so have had my eye on Addiction Efreet, from their Vampire series from a few years ago. I'm not into vampires, but I've seen this little girl with her fangs filed so she just had regular teeth, and then she becomes just a 'chatty little girl'. This is her promo picture, but I'm looking past that. She'll be coming blank.

And I've also had my eye on FID Bianca for some time. But with all the uncertainties with my health, I just wasn't ready to move further into the FID line. I hadn't been sure I even wanted to stay with that size, but I hate selling my dolls, and a single girl and guy just seemed so limiting. So I decided once I'm feeling better again, I would like to get into making a line of fancy gowns from my substantial collection of saris and Indian scarves. And two girls in a photo just has so many more possibilities. I don't usually order my dolls with a factory face up, but I love her just how they offer her, so am getting her with a face up - although in Real Skin instead of PeachGold....

I'm Home!!

I'm Home!!

I can't believe they sent me home just two days after major surgery, but when my doctor came by to see me yesterday morning, she said "The surgery went well, you're up, you're moving, you're passing gas, so it's time to go home"

She said I certainly gave her a run for her money, as a scheduled two-hour surgery became a four-hour marathon. She said things went better than she expected at first, and she was almost finished with the laproscopy, but then could not finish the final step in the procedure that way, so she had to open me up after all for the final part.

So she signed me out yesterday morning. Problem was, when Jan had come by earlier, I was still on the IV pump, antibiotics and morphine drip, and they said it would probably come off tomorrow today). So Jan went to help our son with his new home renovations, and be back by dinnertime. Two hours later my doctor discharged me. But how to get a hold of Jan?? I don't know his new cellphone number. I never have to call him on it. I do have it in my purse, but one isn't supposed to bring valuables to the hospital, so no purse to look in. And his cell number wasn't on the paperwork at the hospital either.

The only other telephone number I knew was my sister's, but I know she doesn't pick up if it's not a number she recognizes. Figured I'd leave a message anyways, but turns out she was out for the day.

So I spent the whole day hanging out in my room watching the new babies arrive. I was in one end of the 'Maternity' ward, because it's the same doctor who does both. And they were having a run on deliveries yesterday, so there was a lot of coming and going.

Jan finally arrived around dinnertime, and he was even more surprised they'd discharged me.

So now the recovery begins. The pain isn't too bad. It's all rather 'familiar' now - like after all my C-sections - except I'm a LOT older now. For me, the worst is usually the after-effects of the anesthetic, which will last for a while yet. But each day should get better.

Anyways, I'd really like to thank everyone for all their thoughts and prayers during all this. It meant a lot.

Now to take it easy and rest. Then to figure out a way to wash my hair. It's one thing to be a "rootin' tootin' Grandma", it's another thing to be looking like Einstein's mother.

It was closing time, and the others had all had their picture taken. Except Ringo.
"So, how about you little fellow??" asked Santa...

"Why so sad??"

"Is there something you'd like for Christmas??"

Ringo started to cry....

"My Mom is in the hospital. And I just want her to get better, and come home."

"I can see that you are very worried...."

"Now, let's wipe your tears, and take a nice photo for your Mom."
