Event Order

I had been waiting until after my surgery before taking advantage of Iplehouse's annual Holiday Event Sale. Then earlier this week they announced a new KID and BID coming - which they released yesterday. I'm finding their last releases all look so much the same, and so neither really appealed to me. So it was time to decide on my order.

I like some 'character' in my dolls, so have had my eye on Addiction Efreet, from their Vampire series from a few years ago. I'm not into vampires, but I've seen this little girl with her fangs filed so she just had regular teeth, and then she becomes just a 'chatty little girl'. This is her promo picture, but I'm looking past that. She'll be coming blank.

And I've also had my eye on FID Bianca for some time. But with all the uncertainties with my health, I just wasn't ready to move further into the FID line. I hadn't been sure I even wanted to stay with that size, but I hate selling my dolls, and a single girl and guy just seemed so limiting. So I decided once I'm feeling better again, I would like to get into making a line of fancy gowns from my substantial collection of saris and Indian scarves. And two girls in a photo just has so many more possibilities. I don't usually order my dolls with a factory face up, but I love her just how they offer her, so am getting her with a face up - although in Real Skin instead of PeachGold....

The FIDs do come out again every few months, but I always wait until their Holiday Event to order anything from Doll Choice. I don't feel like paying the extra $50 just for the privilege of getting a doll from there.

Plus there's usually discounts too, and everything helps, as our dollar is just at 75 cents right now.

It must have been so difficult to narrow your choice down to two dolls! The two you've chosen are great.

Your chatty little girl is going to be so much fun to work into your stories. I'm really looking forward to what you do with her.

Bianca is really lovely and should be a delight to see in the costumes you design for her.

It can be a difficult choice, especially since Jan always reminds me I already have more dolls than I have time for, and that I should only get new ones if I'm actually going to use them. As in photo stories.

But what first got me into dolls was the potential for making beautiful costumes, and dolls in those just end up standing in my display case, looking nice. But those dolls are just as important to me as the swarms of little kids who end up in my photo stories.

I had thought I would be ordering Daisy - I'm really drawn to her smile - but couldn't decide on whether to get a boy or girl. And KIDs aren't like BIDs in that their girl and boy bodies are basically the same (except for one little thing). So, maybe next time.
