Yesterday was "National Pie Day", and Hope and Layla baked a delicious apple pie. I'm hoping pain levels will settle down this week so I can get back to my sewing. I would love the commission I'm working on, to be finished as soon as possible, so I can take the rest of December to finally work on a gown for Asa and something for Owen - and to take Holiday photos! I had all kinds of plans for special Christmas party dresses fro Kaye Wiggs girls, and even bought some beautiful new fabrics, but I don't think I'll be able to squeeze them in anymore. However, fancy party dresses are good any time of year, and not just at Christmas, so I'm not going to stress over them. I'll get to them when I do.
Last week there was a "Pins and Needles Day", but I didn't feel up to setting up for a picture. So today while I'm getting ready to cut out the rest of the Summer Goddess costume pieces, I decided to let Byuri and Tillie help. I don't think they realize one is supposed to lay the fabric flat and pin the patterns onto it - not just poke pins into the fabric. I think they seriously could use some sewing lessons! With all the nice warm sweaters and hats I've been making for my little Iple-girls, I've started to feel Tillie and Cinnamon may be starting to feel a touch left out standing there in their summer clothes on the end of the shelf. It's high time to start including them again. In the past they've gone all winter in their Christmas Elf outfits, and as cute as those are, I think it's high time they got some regular winter wardrobes - some darker dresses and tights, and some sweaters, hats and scarves. And then they need to be included in all the fun with the other little kids.
