Ringo pulled out his sword....
Winston arrived at the castle when his friends were out on the terrace. He had a soft spot for Ringo, and liked to tease him, so grabbed his hat... Ringo pulled out his sword.... "Give me back my hat!!"
I wanted to use a different horse for Monica, or some of the other ladies, so I don't always use the exact same ones in every scene. So I went downstairs and picked out the light gold one with the cream coloured hair. I sprayed it with Testor's Dullcote on Saturday, then blushed him with pastels on Sunday, sprayed him again, and gave him Morgan's tack.
Then took some photos of him with Monica.... With the change of the seasons, I'm finding it hard to focus on any one project. There's too many things going on. Eden's outfit is stalled. Like usual, it's fighting me every step of the way. What is it about getting old? I seem to have lost my touch. Used to be that I'd choose the fabrics, make up the outfit and it worked out exactly like I wanted it to. Not anymore. Or at least rarely. This is where I'm at....inserting studs and sewing the beads on the epaulets.... But I'm liking everything less and less. I've never been a fan of beiges, browns and greens. The fabrics I chose aren't working out either. The beaded under-sleeves seem way too stiff. The beige tunic fabric is thin but stiff, and shows all the pin holes. I'm also second-guessing the hooded collar fabric. I much prefer Prince Adrian's wine red one. Jan asks why I can't just give it to Eden. Well, because it belongs to Adrian, and I've been photographing him with it on, since March. I don't know. It's true that an outfit tends to look questionable (to me) at a certain point, and if I push on anyways, it usually turns out just fine. I hope so. I'm this far already, so might as well keep going and see what I think when it's done. In the meantime I also started knitting a sweater for Raillie..... The uppers for the five pairs of shoes are finally done, and are waiting for me to add the Apoxie soles and heels. Something I'm not really looking forward to.... I also have in mind a possible new Christmas story, which requires a new outfit for Princess Nami. I went through boxes of fabrics, and chose some nice turquoise ones for the dress and jacket. But the next day, changed my mind and pulled out a different, less bright combination. The gray brocade will be for her main dress, the lighter blue for her underskirt and sleeves, and the darker blue for a fur-trimmed coat.... assuming I don't change my mind again.... One thing that did work out, was blushing one of the horses in the basement herd. I was getting tired of the posable Morgan Horse's joints always showing. Plus he wasn't nearly as realistic looking as the other horses. So I decided to do a bit of work on a golden cream horse with cream coloured hair and tail. That way I'd have a new horse for the ladies. *Photos coming soon.
Jan sent me some photos that he took at the end of September when I was shooting Sena's birthday party out on the patio.... Looking back at these photos it looks like we live in a botanical garden or something. It's hard to believe that such a short time ago it looked so beautiful out there. This is all that's left out there today. The only reason there's still any colour left is because Jan made the effort to bring some plants into the garage every time there was a chance of frost. But soon the last plants will freeze, all the leaves will fall off the last bushes, and it will be stark and bare for the next six months. Kind of depressing really.....
Hopefully we'll get a lot of snow this winter, because that always looks nice out there. This notice was in my Inbox yesterday.... This is sad news. It also means that the wigs in colours I've been waiting for them to get back in stock aren't ever going to be. Which means having to go back to making wigs myself.
It also means that many, many shoes will no longer be available soon, as stocks dwindle. So, better go check if there's anything I might ever need, and go order it while I still can.... The girls had been hanging on to their pumpkin Jack-o-lanterns as long as possible, but they were starting to rot and get mouldy, so it was time to toss them.... "That was my favourite..." "It's funny how they shrivel up...." "Unfortunately, once they are carved, they don't last very long..." "...so they all end up in the compost pile..." 'Next year we get to make new ones."
