We experienced an ice storm over the past weekend. First freezing rain, then a couple of centimetres of ice pellets, then more freezing rain. I figured (hoped) it would be winter's 'final hurrah' this spring, and having just finished a bunch of mushroom clumps, I had a photo idea.... "I don't suppose there's room under there for me??" "I'm really sick of this ice and snow!!" "Sorry, there's not enough room..." "I didn't think so..." "Maybe you can find some other place dry and warm?"
I have some new and slightly used doll outfits for sale. Click on thumbnails for more information... To purchase, contact me at - [email protected]
Nothing like working on the computer, only to have a shipping notice pop into the Inbox! My FID Rex is on his way!! I've loved Rex since the day he was released as a Special Forces Limited Edition. But I really didn't want another huge doll. Even so, I was tempted on several occasions. Then Iplehouse released him as a smaller FID (Fun Size), but I really didn't want another guy with the hunky, Super Hero body, so passed again. And then they released a new slimmer FID body - a more normal guy's body. So then I finally ordered him. In Real Skin. And he's coming with a face up!!! He's coming with some tall black boots, which i figure would work for all kinds of historical or Fantasy characters. I've been trying to decide if he and Bianca are going to be from the Elizabethan period, or Rococo, or maybe something Fantasy.
So I better hurry up and finish the two little Victorian dresses so i can make Rex a wig, and then decide on something for him to wear. With all the photo work, the two dresses aren't moving very fast. I've made the bodices, pleated the two skirts, and lined their hats..... Even though everyone was a little reluctant at first, they soon started to enjoy themselves.... Lonnie and Peach tried to beat each other at checkers.... While Angela, Milo, and Lisa played 'Sorry'.... ...and Paige and Byuri played dominos.... Milo couldn't decide which of his men to move.... "Sorry!!" Everyone was having a lot of fun... ..and no one seemed to miss their phones....
My poor crocuses have been up for weeks, struggling to bloom in this never-ending winter weather. I did capture some of them open on one sunny day last week when it was just above freezing.... But the last three days have been especially trying, with all the freezing rain and ice pellets, and then a whole second round of freezing rain. The poor flowers are up to their necks in ice pellets... When the ice finally melts, all the early flowers, like the yellow ones above, will have been destroyed. I just hope the ones that were still in tight buds survive.... In the meantime I'm trying to take advantage of the delayed Spring, to make some mushrooms for spring photo shoots. I know mushrooms are technically something that grows in late summer and fall, but these are for Fantasy scenes, so who cares?? The big mushroom has the top of a big 'house' mushroom I've been using in the background of some Willie photos. The top broke off a while ago, and I don't like how the top now sits so low on the base, so I decided to make a taller, slimmer bottom. And while I was at it, I found some ceramic mushrooms at Dollarama. I didn't like their chunky ceramic bases either, so just pulled off the caps and attached them to dowels. I filled in the bottoms of the caps with foil, then Paperclay. Extra details are made from Aves Apoxie. I hope they are dry enough to paint tomorrow.
I've also started to catch up on making the Favourite Photos albums. Narae's art series will take up TWELVE separate albums. The thumbnails are all there, but only three albums have been completed. The rest don't open yet. And there's four other albums needing to be made, as well as several to be updated. There's also two tutorial buttons that don't open yet either. So lots to do!! Aaron was feeling so embarrassed as his Mom was going round confiscating everyone's phones.... "Sorry, guys...." "So, now what??" Everyone was suddenly very bored.... "What are we supposed to do now??" Then Byuri came trudging back in, carrying armloads of games..... "How about some 'old-fashioned' games that you have to play with real people??" "I guess we could give it a try. It's not like we have anything else to do anymore...."
Asa came into the room carrying a basket. "I've come to collect all your phones..." "I'll take your's first..." "And now your's. You can have them back when you go home." Lonnie & Paige tried to quickly finish their texts.... "Why did you have to go and do that?!?!" "In the basket, please...." Aaron was so embarrassed and tried apologizing to his friends....
Aaron's little sister came into the room and saw everyone on their phones.... "You call this a PARTY??" "I'm telling Mom!!" And off she went to find her Mom....
Aaron was posing for his birthday portrait, when someone texted him..."Happy Birthday!" He looked around, and everyone was on their phones.... Everyone was glued to their phones.... "Okay......?!?!"
