"Baron Alexander, do you take this woman to be your lawfully wedded wife," ".. to live together in matrimony, to love her, to honour her, to comfort her, and to keep her, in sickness and in health," "..forsaking all others, from this day forward as long as you both shall live?" "I do." "Naomi Elizabeth," "...do you take this man to be your lawfully wedded husband," "..to live together in matrimony, to love him, to honour him, to comfort him, and to keep him, in sickness and in health," "...forsaking all others, from this day forward as long as you both shall live?" "Dearly beloved..." "...we are gathered here today..." "..in the presence of family," ".. and friends..." "...to join this man and this woman..." "..in the bonds of Holy Matrimony." "Marriage is an honorable estate, and is therefore not to be entered into lightly." "Therefore, may the promises you make to one another today, be lived out to the end of your lives." "Tomorrow may bring you the greatest of joys..." "...but today is the day it all begins."
Finally, there she was, Baron's beautiful bride.... ...being escorted in by his best friend. David, who had a secret crush on Naomi, watched his Dad escort her down the aisle... When the children arrived at the altar, they turned to stand facing the audience, beside Baron, ... just like they had practiced. When Lawrence and Naomi reached the altar, he passed her over to Baron, who lifted her veil. "You look so beautiful!" Then Lawrence took his seat... ...and the ceremony was ready to begin.
Everyone rose, and turned to look... ...as Nami led the way into the cathedral... Rex and Bianca proudly watched their daughter as she approached... But the children had been instructed to ignore the guests...especially their parents... ..and keep their gaze focussed on the Bishop at the front.
Paige came back into the chapel. She had been watching for the Bishop to signal that he was ready to begin. "They are ready to begin, Dad." "Finally!" "The choir has started singing, and it's time for us to go in." "So, are you ready? This is your last chance to back out, if you are having any second thoughts." "Yes, I'm sure. I love Baron with all my heart." Paige and Fay picked up her veil... ..and Naomi covered her face, and took Lawrence's arm.. "I'm ready." "Well then, here we go..." Nami led the way... As they started towards the Great Hall....
Naomi and her attendants were waiting in a side chapel with Lawrence. Lawrence and Baron had been best friends since they were children, and under other circumstances he would have been asked to serve as Baron's Best Man. But as King, Lawrence was forbidden from accepting any 'subservient' roles. So Naomi, who had no family, and wanted to include Lawrence in some way on her and Baron's special day, had asked him if he'd be willing to walk her down the aisle and give her away. "I am honoured that you agreed to participate in our wedding, and walk me down the aisle Sire. I know it means a lot to Baron to have Your Majesty involved in some way." "The honour is all mine, Naomi." "Baron is one lucky man, to have found you." "I know how much he loves you..." "...and I wish you both every happiness in your lives together." Ringo was getting impatient, "When is this whole thing getting started?"
The wedding guests were starting to arrive at the cathedral... ...mingling with old friends they hadn't seen in a while.. Baron and Miho were talking with the Bishop, who wanted to make sure they were familiar with the order of the ceremony. David was glad to see that Jamie would be sitting near him. With his little brother and both sisters in the wedding party, he was glad to have the company. "So, are we ready to begin?" "Yes, just as soon as everyone is seated." "I guess we should find our seats." "Yes, and we can catch up some more later."
It was a beautiful day in late September, and finally Baron and Naomi's long awaited wedding day. The formal photos of the Bride and her young attendants, were taken before the ceremony, on the terrace in Miho's garden.... Naomi looked beautiful in the wedding gown she had made... ..and her five little flower girls looked beautiful in the dresses she had made for them. They were all from the noble families Naomi had come to know. There was Princess Paige and Princess Nami (Lawrence and Monica's daughters), and Bonnie (Grace & Jude's daughter), Judith (Rex and Bianca's daughter), and Fay (Bianca's little sister) Baron had asked Ringo to serve as ring-bearer. He was the youngest of the Royal children, and was taking his job very seriously. "You look very handsome." One last photo, and it was time to head to the cathedral.
