Meanwhile, the children, who could finally relax, were gathered around the dessert table... "Everything looks so delicious!" "So, I'm starting with one of these."
It was just an informal reception, so after the cake cutting, everyone began to mingle... Miho sought out her son and new daughter-in-law, "I want to congratulate you both, and welcome Naomi to our family. It was such a beautiful ceremony, and you looked absolutely radiant." "I truly hope the two of you will have a long and happy life together. " "Yes, it was a beautiful ceremony, and I wish the two of you every happiness in your future together." "Thank you both. That means a lot to us. And I'd also like to thank you for allowing us to hold the reception in your garden." "I've always dreamt of a garden wedding, and your garden is so beautiful..." Then Miho and Dominic excused themselves, as she wanted to introduce Dominic to the other guests. "Your Majesties, I'd like you to meet someone." "This is Dominic, my good friend." "It's a pleasure to meet you, sir." "Baron has shared your good news with us, and we've been looking forward to meeting you." Monica turned to Miho..."And congratulations on the marriage of your son. It was such a lovely ceremony." Then Lawrence and Monica went to find Baron and Naomi... "Congratulations, old friend!" "We hope the two of you will be very happy, and have a wonderful life together." "Congratulations! I'm so happy Baron found you. The two of you are so perfect for each other." "Thank you both. And for being so welcoming, and making my transition to your world so wonderful."
Baron proceeded to cut the cake... ...and Naomi picked up a piece... ..and offered it to him. "It's traditional, where I come from," "...for the bride to offer the first piece of cake to her groom." "Well, I certainly wouldn't want to go against tradition."
The reception was going to be an intimate, afternoon affair, with only their closest friends, mingling in Miho's beautiful garden. And after everyone arrived, they all gathered around the magnificent cake.... It seemed almost too nice to cut... Naomi hesitated... So Baron took the knife...
The whole wedding party... 'Uncle' Baron with the children... Baron with Ringo, his ring bearer, and Winston... Baron with the two most important women in his life...his bride and his Mother.... ...and one final portrait of Baron and Naomi...
After the ceremony it was time for the formal wedding portraits, out on the terrace in Miho's garden...
With the ceremony complete... ...the Bishop turned to the guests... "I now present to you, Sir Baron, and Lady Naomi, husband and wife." And they started down the aisle...arm in arm together... ...and the flower girls followed behind... And that brings us to the end of the ceremony in the cathedral. To revisit the entire ceremony from beginning to end, it's up in Favourite Photos, so just click on the photo below... But their wedding day is nowhere near over yet. Coming up are the formal wedding photos of Baron & Naomi, the cutting of their cake, and their reception. So stay tuned.
Then Baron and Naomi knelt before the Bishop, to receive the blessing on their marriage. "May your special union bring great joy to your life." "May you face every challenge hand-in-hand and side-by-side ready to conquer all obstacles together. " "May the challenges that life brings your way make your marriage stronger." "May you always see and encourage the best in each other." "May love and laughter fill your hearts and your home for all at the days of your lives.
And may you always be each other's best friend and greatest love." "Baron, place the ring on Naomi's finger, and repeat after me." Ringo stepped forward with the rings... Baron slipped the ring on Naomi's finger... "With this ring, I thee wed..." "...and pledge you my love, now, always, and forever." Then Naomi slipped Baron's ring onto his finger...."With this ring, I thee wed..." "...and pledge you my love, now, always, and forever." "With the authority invested in me, under the laws of this Kingdom," "I now pronounce you husband and wife."
The Bishop then asked Baron and Naomi to join hands. "Now repeat after me.." "I, Baron Alexander, take you Naomi Elizabeth, to be my wife, to have and to hold from this day forward," "...for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health," " ...to love and to cherish, till death do us part." "I, Naomi Elizabeth, take you Baron Alexander, to be my husband," "...to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse," "...for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health..." "...to love and to cherish, till death do us part."
