Naomi and her attendants were waiting in a side chapel with Lawrence. Lawrence and Baron had been best friends since they were children, and under other circumstances he would have been asked to serve as Baron's Best Man. But as King, Lawrence was forbidden from accepting any 'subservient' roles. So Naomi, who had no family, and wanted to include Lawrence in some way on her and Baron's special day, had asked him if he'd be willing to walk her down the aisle and give her away. "I am honoured that you agreed to participate in our wedding, and walk me down the aisle Sire. I know it means a lot to Baron to have Your Majesty involved in some way." "The honour is all mine, Naomi." "Baron is one lucky man, to have found you." "I know how much he loves you..." "...and I wish you both every happiness in your lives together." Ringo was getting impatient, "When is this whole thing getting started?"

Ah Ringo leave it to a kid to get people back to the task at hand. Lovely factoid about the King not being permitted to be in a subservient role.

The photos are all so beautiful and filled with emotion. The little attendants look so earnest and charming in their blue gowns. Lawrence as always is striking and regal, yet very gentle and kind with Naomi. And then there is Ringo! If he were a modern lad, I could almost hear him saying "Let's get this show on the road!"

I had not thought what role the King would play in the ceremony. This was definitely the best role for him.

I needed someone to walk Naomi down the aisle, since she's an orphan, with no family of her own in this time period. So who better than Lawrence, Baron's best and oldest friend? Comments are closed.
