A Visit from St. Nicholas

December 6th is St. Nicholas Day, and the children had put out their wooden shoes the night before. They were very surprised when St. Nicholas arrived in person to deliver small gifts and chocolate letters....

It is always fun to see your little ones with St. Nicholas. His costume is beautiful and regal, and at the same time he is very gentle and approachable...a perfect combination.

Thank you. I loved how my Wizard looked as a Bishop, which is exactly what St. Nicholas is, so I thought I'd add to the coat I'd been borrowing from an old art doll Wizard and let him be St. Nicholas as well as Santa Claus.

In the past I always used an old St. Nicholas art doll in my photos, but he wasn't posable, and looked way too stern. My Wizard makes a much friendlier version. His outfit isn't exactly like the traditional bright red and white, but I liked him to look more regal.

Maybe some day I'll make some of the other Christmas figure costumes for him as well. Like Father Christmas, or Father Frost.
