"Look, Mom got us some bananas, and they are getting too ripe, so we need to eat them"
Today I'd like to finish Soa's pantaloons, and get started on sewing two 'Jennet' outfits - one blue, the other green.
Today is 'International Banana Festival Day', and as luck would have it, I found some real miniature bananas at the grocery store this past week - so bought a small bunch. "Look, Mom got us some bananas, and they are getting too ripe, so we need to eat them" Miki wasn't impressed, "This one is too ripe! I't's kind of mushy!" But Layla knew exactly what to do with an overly ripe banana...... Went to Fabricland last night to stock up on some thread and sewing machine needles. Figured we'd better go ASAP since Jan will probably be too ill on the weekend to go out. I also found some pink fabrics for an upcoming 'Summer Goddess'. then went to Value Village and found a large black and white striped top to cut up for tights. I also scored some small stuffed toys for some upcoming Special Days photos.
Today I'd like to finish Soa's pantaloons, and get started on sewing two 'Jennet' outfits - one blue, the other green.

Love these photos Martha....the girls are so cute :) I fell in love with your Kaye Wiggs dolls and had to have one. My Layla arrived today and I'm now waiting on Talyssa. Layla is my first BJD and she's gorgeous!! Thanks for all the inspiration you post. I love your blog :)

Kaye's dolls are really cute, but quite honestly, I've gotten really tired of the ridiculously long waiting times at JPopDolls. These dolls are already at the highest price point for dolls their size, and then to have to wait 8 months or more is just unacceptable. Back when I got my first Layla two years ago, waiting periods were four months, and even that is long for most other doll companies.

Please don't feel embarrassed on my behalf Martha...I understood the wait period when I ordered and was happy to accept that. I'm Australian and was thrilled to find a fellow Aussie artist to start my BJD journey with :) I've preordered Talyssa also and know I won't receive her until Feb next year. I don't have a problem with that. Now that I have one in the flesh, IMO Kaye's dolls are well worth waiting for. I guess those that really want one are prepared to wait, otherwise they'd go elsewhere and buy something else. I'm guessing the wait period depends on the size of the edition...more dolls means a longer wait? My SK Layla is the last run of the Layla sculpt so it was a fairly large preorder. I'm so happy I found Kaye's dolls before I missed out on her! She's gorgeous...and it's thanks to you and your blog that I got in in time to get one before she was no longer available :) I'm very grateful for that! Comments are closed.
