Wig Caps

There was a shipping notice from Iplehouse the other day, that my KID Paige boy is on the way. Which means he's going to need a wig. Making wigs is definitely not one of my favourite things to do, so I figured I might as well tackle a couple of others at the same time. At least it's gotten a little easier now that I figured out a better way to make the wig caps....

So, I have three wig caps ready to be made into wigs.  There's one for the new boy, who I suspect will be named 'Jamie'.  I prefer to keep a sculpt's original name, but I already have a Paige girl, so I was trying to find a boy's name that starts with 'P', but there wasn't one I liked. So I went down the list of soft 'G', and settled on Jamie.

The ironic thing is, that Jamie was ordered specifically to wear the KID BOY Fantasy outfit, and be a son to Grace and Jude, and now I'm thinking I'd like to see the couple in something contemporary for a change.  Which is why both of them need new wigs.  Jude will need something fashionable, and much more tame, and I'm not going to trim his existing wild hair, because once it's been cut there's no going back.  The only other outfits I have that would fit Jude would mean that Grace would need something other than straight long hair. So I made the two of them wig caps as well.

It's interesting to see the three heads in a row. On the left is IH FID Grace in Special Real skin. In the middle is SJ 51ATH Jude in Amber Beige. And on the right is IH KID Paige in Normal resin.

Now I have to find the same mohair I used for Grace and Jude's first wigs so their new ones are the same colour. The new KID Jamie will get the same blonde colour mohair as Jude.

They have such beautiful faces. Did you do their faceups? They are stunning. Watching with interest the wig making process.

No, I didn't do their faces. I can't see well enough, or paint fine enough lines when I still could. Charie Wilson painted Paige (on the right) but the other two have 'factory makeup'. Jude's is especially nice, and is far nicer than any of my Iplehouse guys.

I have tutorials on my wig making techniques in the Tutorial section, so I won't be duplicating the process here.

Thank you I have only just found your blog, so just finding where things are, I quite understand you not duplicating the process! I've just got my first little Iplehouse doll.
