We're Back!

We arrived back home yesterday evening after a week up north. It was nice to get away, even if the weather didn't exactly cooperate.  But then, cloudy skies are better for doll photography anyways - so I took a LOT - between rain storms.

I only took along Baron and Naomi with lots of warm clothes, and a box of props for whatever opportunity would present itself. But with it being so wet and rainy, there wasn't much opportunity for anything other than photographing them posed on top of a picnic table, or hand held by Jan.  Plus my spinal issues were really acting up, so even when it was somewhat 'dry' I didn't get down very often, although I did manage a couple of times. The challenge was always to make use of 'forced perspective' to make the dolls fit into the landscape.

So I took 'travel photos' of Baron and Naomi, as if they were on an RV trip regardless of the weather. I plan to post the photos day by day, or from certain places they visited, but will give you a sneak peak first.....

Welcome home! Lake Superior Provincial Park in the fall is always a treat, even when the weather doesn't cooperate. I'll be looking forward to following the photos of Baron and Naomi on their trip.

I love the coast of Lake Superior, both on the eastern coast, as well as at the top, although we didn't go passed Wawa Unfortunately we were too late for the fall colours. Most of the trees were bare already.

They look wonderful! Such a beautiful area. I used to live in Saulte Ste Marie, the American side for a year or so in my misspent youth. We popped over the bridge now and then to see things from the Canadian side.

It is definitely a very scenic area.

I love the photo of Naomi in the gray Stylish Fashion sweat jacket and cap. it looks so natural with her looking into the distance and her hair blown by the wind.

Thanks. I always try to make the dolls look as real as possible. I'm so glad I brought all the extra warm clothes, since they definitely needed it.

Yeaaa, you are back! I bet Baron and Naomi (and you and Jan, of course) had a wonderful time.

I can't wait to see more photos of the trip.

It was okay. Very little fall colour (the trees were mostly bare), very rainy with almost no sunshine, and I was in major pain the whole time, esp at night, so couldn't sleep. I did enjoy taking doll photos, but was disappointed that I couldn't do nearly half the things I'd wanted to because of the lousy weather. So there won't be the usual variety in the trip photos. After all, what can a modern couple do in the wilderness when all it does is rain?
