We're Back!

Well, what can I say?  The trip definitely didn't go as hoped. Both of us had a tiny cough when we left, and assuming we'd caught it off one of our grandchildren, we figured it would pass quickly - at least by the time we got to the ferry to Newfoundland.  Wrong!  As soon as we got off the ferry, my cough got worse, alternating from mild to severe depending on the weather. After a while, my voice went, and it was time to see a doctor. So we went to the hospital in Twillingate. The doctor said the X-rays showed I had come down with pneumonia, or a partially collapsed lung - he couldn't tell for sure. I was given a prescription for antibiotics - one I'd had before. But the next day I had a reaction to the antibiotics, and the dosage needed to be lowered. 

I also did something to one of my knees. Probably pulled a muscle while taking doll photos on the rocks at Cape Bonivista. So, between the pneumonia, and not being able to walk very well, all my doll photo plans went out the window.

The antibiotics were working way too slowly, and I couldn't sleep at all due to my noisy breathing, and I was completely fed up, so we decided to go home as quickly as possible. Which from where we were in Newfoundland, takes five whole days. 

Anyway, even though I was unable to do most of the things I'd wanted to do towards the end of the trip, there were some great photos at the beginning.  Here's a sneak peak..... of Winston celebrating Canada Day in Twillingate.....
