Next morning the clouds were back.... ...and the wind had really picked up even more.... We headed north to Wawa. 'Wawa' is Ojibway for 'wild goose'.... There's a huge goose standing high on the hill overlooking the Trans Canada Highway as it turns westward below.... It's a popular tourist stop. View to the west..... ...through the naked birches.... After breakfast we headed into town, where Naomi needed to do some shopping.... One of the stores was completely painted... ...with contemporary Ojibway art....

I love Naomi's sweater set. The wild goose statue is great. We have migrating geese here. I admire them in formation as they fly.

I took along every warm sweater I had, and this was the first this size I knit for JID Leona. It was nice Naomi could borrow the other ladies tops and sweaters, is I didn't have to knit some specifically for her - like with Baron.

I love First Nations art and have several colourful Ojibway paintings hanging in our home. All by the same artist from Manitoulin Island.
