With their entire family, finally all together, back in Victorian times, Steve & Isis hired a professional photographer to take a series of family portraits....

Martha, oh my goodness, I love the pictures! I can almost see the hired photographer with her head under the curtain behind the camera taking the pictures. I guess that's the kind of camera that would have been used.
Is this family living in Victorian times or did they just dress like this for the photos? In either case, the family is so regal looking. I wonder what adventures they will have.

Thanks! Yes, that's the kind of camera that would have been used.

I haven't decided yet. This all came about because I was reworking an old porcelain doll gown, and like everything doll-related, the project grew and grew, until it had a mind of it's own.

Anyways, I expect the family can be both modern and Victorian. Why set limits?

Martha, that would be lovely. Set some of the photos in the past and some in the future. It's like the family has a parallel life. I love that idea!
Come to the US, Dotti and I will find you tons of Victorian homes to use as backdrops (chuckle).

They can have more than one 'reality'. The other family with Leona and Owen, and their four kids, also have an alternate reality in the Fantasy realm.

I think Victorian homes in the US would be an even further drive away than in some of the towns here in Canada. Plus, we let our passports expire.

They're wonderful and so totally Victorian! I especially love the second one.

Thank you! I'm really liking how the photos are turning out, and still need to shoot plenty more. It would be nice to take them out on location somewhere, but I don't know of any towns within driving distance that have a park surrounded by gorgeous old Victorian houses - with no garages or cars.

I do want to try the McLaughlin Estate in Oshawa at some point, but I want to wait until there's flowers blooming in the gardens and planters.

Oh my goodness, the perspective in these photographs makes the setting look so real! The doll-sized furnishings blend seamlessly into the people-sized house beyond! You are so clever and so talented. Wonderful photographs, as always.

I set up the furniture on the window end of the table in my dining room, which opens into the front hall, so sometimes it shows up in the background.

On the extreme right is one of the French doors, which I've lined with fabric the same colour as the walls. It hides a shelving unit with boxes of fabrics and doll clothes. It's just one of the many places in my house where I hide my supplies.
