On Monday his Covid19 test came back Negative, but they said the test has a 24% false negative rate, so swabbed him again. This time the results took only one day, and it came back Negative again. At least that's some good news.
So they did an MRI, and yesterday they wanted to inject him with radioactive dye for a more detailed scan, because they are trying to figure out why he had a stroke. He also needs to see a cardiologist because his heart enzymes continue to be elevated. We've not heard results of any of the tests.
His nurse said that Jan's chest is clear after his pneumonia treatments, but he still has a bad cough. He is somewhat shaky on his feet, so they make him use a walker, but he's not allowed out of bed without supervision. He said he complained that it wasn't fair.
I did talk to him on the phone, and on Sunday he sounded much like his old self, but yesterday his voice sounded really bad, like he was very sick. He said his hands felt awful, that they are peeling after the bad rash he had from the Hand, Foot and Mouth disease this all started with over three weeks ago.
Last week Mike was able to deliver things for Jan to the screening station at the hospital, to be delivered to him, but this week the hospital has cracked down and nothing is allowed in anymore, unless it can be wiped down with disinfectant. In other words no food or artwork. So the grandkid's art and get Well Cards are piling up here at home for whenever he gets released, and we have no idea as to when that will be.
Today is our 43rd wedding anniversary.
