Two New BIDs

8/4/2015

My two little BIDs Serca and Naias arrived this morning.  I hadn't really planned on getting them just yet, hoping Iplehouse would have their Christmas special again later this year, when I'd be able to get Naias at Basic Price. She's the last of the four Elemental Guardians, and only available through Doll Choice, which costs $50 more.

But then Iplehouse announced a Surprise Summer Sale, with Doll Choice dolls at Basic Prices, and all Basic dolls discounted. I figured with our dollar expected to continue it's downward slide, I'd better not wait until December, and just get them now.

Both new dolls are Special Real Skin, and came with girl bodies. I had thought Serca could be a boy, and Naiais would be a girl, but now I don't know. Maybe they'll both be girls.

Anyway, the others were very curious to see who was in the Iplehouse box the Mail lady delivered this morning, so eagerly gathered around to look...

And on another note, it looks like Smuzhka the Raccoon finally found himself a seat on a plane out of Oregon. Considering I received his 'shipping notice' 11 days ago, it really is about time.  At least it looks like he's on a direct flight to Canada, and not going to San Francisco first. But most dolls from the west coast arrive in Canada through Vancouver, so that adds another stop. So we'll see when he gets here.

Congratulations! It's such fun when new dolls arrive and I love your arrival photos. It would be hard to decide who becomes the boy and who the girl; both make awfully cute girls :o) and would probably make adorable boys too. Can't wait to see what you decide!

Huge congratulations!!! And I do love how your new dolls are so kindly greeted by the already-at-home gang.
Good luck deciding if you have two new girls, or a boy and a girl at home now.
When do they go away for their face-ups?

And thank goodness that the Raccoon has really shipped at last!!!
About time too!

I don't know when I'll bring them away. I wasn't counting on getting them so soon, and there's at least one other doll I want to bring away first. And I have two BIDs I'd really like redone. So the two new ones may just have to wait. I don't know yet.

Well, after two days on a plane (must have been a little old antique) my Racoon is 500 miles further, and in Canada - in Vancouver, at the other side of the country, where he'll go through Customs, then board another plane to Toronto. Hopefully a faster one. I don't know if there's much chance he'll arrive this week. We don't get Saturday delivery here.

Hi! I've been admiring your dolls and work for some time, and I have an off-the-subject sort of question. I've bought a few bjd's from doll stores here in the U.S., but am very interested in Iplehouse's Carina. Are there extra fees involved when ordering out of country? You have such a lovely collection. Thanks for showing them!

Thank you!

Iplehouse is wonderful to order from. They mark all their dolls as 'gift' - at least to Canada, and probably to the US as well - so there are never any extra charges. At least I've never had to pay anything. The only thing extra you'll need to pay is the shipping, which for the larger dolls can be quite a bit, but you'd have to pay shipping no matter where the doll was coming from. The packages from Iplehouse do require a signature at the door, so the Mail person won't just leave them on your doorstep.

Oh Martha!

How are you going to keep up with all the Birthdays??

I'm just doing birthdays this year for the little ones that were already here. It doesn't mean I'm going to throw a party for everyone every year. The exception will be the new ones that have arrived this year; Milo, Gray Manuna Mouse, Serca, Naias, and the Raccoon. At least those are the ones that have arrived so far this year that qualify.
