Sounded like a good idea, so I cut some black T-shirt fabric into a simple rectangle, hemmed the top and bottom, sewed in a short length of black elastic, and sewed up the side seam....
I bought another tuxedo, so both my FID guys could have one. But the shoes that go with it are so snug that it's impossible for them to wear socks in them. Which means they have bare ankles showing, even when they stand, and even more so when they sit.... Well, nothing ruins the look of an elegant suit like bare ankles glaring out. So my husband gave me an idea. What about socks without toes or heels - just a strap under the foot to hold it in place. Like the straps we had on snow pants when we were little?? Sounded like a good idea, so I cut some black T-shirt fabric into a simple rectangle, hemmed the top and bottom, sewed in a short length of black elastic, and sewed up the side seam.... Perfect!! Now the guys won't have those unsightly bare ankles anymore!

What an absolutely brillaint idea! I don't like to see bare leg and ankles either on a doll in a suit.......but I always made socks. This is a much easier/better idea.

I realize this is 4 years later, but evidently it is now OKAY for men to not wear socks with a suit!!!! It took me awhile to get used to the brightly colored socks that a lot of them wear these days (but then again, it's a small way for men to be a little creative) but NO SOCKS? it's just not a good look!

I fully agree. But his shoes are too tight to wear socks in them, so I came up with this idea. Comments are closed.
