Rembrandt just kept on painting....and the girls were getting impatient.... "Can you take a short break dear? The girls have brought your favourite cake....Dutch chocolate." "Just a few more minutes...." Saskia suggested they could start serving the cake....while she continued to hold her pose.... Byuri cut some very generous sized slices.... But the Master just kept on painting.... Chloe got a big piece.... ...and emptied the chair so she could sit down... Nami went and put on one of Rembrandt's big 'prop' hats, and got herself a slice too.... Saskia's mouth was watering as she watched the girls dig into the cake. .... "I really want some of that cake.." "Just a few more minutes....please stop moving so much!" But I don't think a few more minutes will get him as far as he thinks he's going to. He's been working on that painting for the last 20 years, so I doubt it will get finished any time soon. He might as well go over and have some cake. And open those gifts.

You just can't disturb an artist at work!!!

Unfortunately there isn't much one can do with a static art figure. they pretty much just stand there. They'd be amazing if they were actually posable.

Thanks! I'm glad I gave it a shot. For years I'd wanted to do a series on Rembrandt giving art lessons to a bunch of kids from his own time. But he'd have to be removed from his base, and he's not exactly posable - which became abundantly clear. So this will just have to do. Comments are closed.
