Three Little Girls

I've been having so much fun revisiting the Special Days series, many of which feature my Iplehouse BIDs and KIDs.  So when someone on DOA was selling off her entire collection of older BIDs (at a really good price) I finally gave into temptation, and even though it was really hard to choose....I bought three of them....Elin, Aki, and Erzulie....
Picture
All three are from the winter of 2011/2012 and are in the original Normal resin which has a somewhat translucent glow.  I do have two of the sculpts in other resin colours already, but felt they would be different enough, and looked really cute in the Normal resin.

All three came with complete outfits, wigs, and shoes. They all had the 12mm eyes Iplehouse puts in most of their BIDs, and those had to be replaced immediately.  Unfortunately the only 10mm eyes I had (that suited the girls) were the cheap acrylic ones.  They'll just have to do for now. I didn't much care for the wigs they came with either, so spent some time trying on all the ones I had, until I found ones that I felt suited them.

Renaming dolls is not my strong suit, and I usually tend to go with something related to the sculpt name, so fair Elin will be named Erin....
Picture
Aki will keep her sculpt name. She's the youngest looking of the three, and was discontinued around the same time as Ringo.
Picture
Fair Erzulie will be named Lizzy. I think she's so cute in this resin colour....
but she needs some new lashes...

With several of my original BIDs having joined families in other time periods, the number of contemporary children was definitely dwindling, so by adding these three little girls it means I won't have to always be changing dolls into other outfits for photos.

I love your new girls, especially Erzulie/Lizzy. It is so interesting to see her in that color skin. She does look different from your first Erzulie. I love her in yellow!

Aki is sweet with red hair and green eyes.

Elin has a soulful look and is adorable in pink.

I have not been on DOA for months. I am reminded that I should see what is going on.

I am looking forward to reading stories about these three little girls.

I always thought of Erzulie as 'black' since she is usually shown in the brown resin colours, but I thought she looked really beautiful in this lighter resin as well.

All three of them are very pretty! I'd never appreciated how cute Aki and Erzulie really are.

I was also so tempted to buy one or two the BIDs the DOA member was selling, but restrained myself (with great effort!) because many of the ones I have don't get enough attention as it is.

Your three are lucky they have come to live at your house! They'll have many fun times with you, and we'll all get to enjoy them :o)

I was really tempted too, and it was really hard to decide which one(s) to buy, since I would have loved all of them.

But if you do give in to temptation, insist the seller protect the doll's heads better (she didn't at all). The dolls were just inserted into their sleeping bags with no protection to their faces at all. During transit all three face plates popped off, and jostled around in the head spaces, and all three suffered varying degrees of scuffing damage - two have cheek blush ribbed off on the sides, and all three have scuffing on their foreheads. The seller insisted they came packed that way from IH, but one of the boxes even had the bubble wrap under the sleeping bag.

The damage can be hidden, and many of my own dolls also have little scuffs here and there, but these dolls were listed as being "in excellent condition with no damage". It's one thing to scuff up my own dolls, but quite another to receive them that way when they were supposed to be perfect. So I sent photos of all the damage, and even though the seller insisted she packed them as well as she knew how, she did give me a bit of a refund.

The dolls arrived on July 2nd, and it took me a little while to just get past my disappointment, and accept them the way they are. they are really cute.
