There's Mice in the House!

My Mice have arrived, so now I can try relax!  I was so stressed, excited about them coming, but not daring to go too far from the front door. I was trying to take my blood pressure, but then a bird went crashing into my kitchen window, and there was no way to stay calm as I watched it laying there on it's back flapping it's wings and feet. I wanted to go out and rescue it, but I was afraid I'd miss the doorbell. What to do?  Try relax and continue with the blood pressure. Then the doorbell rang - it was my mice!  No extra taxes this time!  Yay!!

So, I signed for the boxes, put them down and rushed outside to turn the poor little bird over, so maybe he would recover.  Then after watering the plants, I opened the boxes.

Wow! They are TINY!  Way smaller than I was expecting - but ever so cute. The first one struggled out of his sleeping bag, but couldn't see anything - he didn't have his eyes in yet....

Some of my tiny girls came over to see what was going on, as the second little mouse
struggled out of his sleeping bag..

Tillie and Cinnamon decided to try help them out...

Out of the second box, a little white mouse emerged. Even thought the other two were
still totally blind, they knew right away a girl mouse had arrived on the scene....

I don't know, what was I thinking, getting just one girl?

These little mice are totally adorable! They pose incredibly well, and stand totally on their own. Their tails are held on with a good strong magnet, but the face is also held on with a magnet, and it pops off rather easily. Their left shoulders need a touch of sueding so their arms will stay in position better. Overall, they are great, and ever so cute.  I can't get over how small they are. I was expecting them to be quite a bit bigger, and as such, they would be unrealistically big to use in photos with my Iplehouse girls. I had planned on dressing them and making them friends with Cinnamon and Tillie, who would become little fairies or elves, but now that I see how small they really are (the last photo shows them just about life-size) it opens up a whole lot more photo opportunities.  Well, guess what I'm going to be doing the rest of the day? After I put their eyes in, and I take those costume photos I've been putting off doing.....

Thanks! I think they'll work well as "fantasy mice" with my smaller dolls, and as "real mice" with the bigger ones.

I checked on the bird a few hours later, and he was gone. I hope he recovered and flew away.

They are priceless to pose! They are going to stay naked for quite a while yet, as there's way too many other things needing doing first.

Wow! The mice look really great! I cant wait till my mouse arrives. Are you going to name them? And thank you for your great tutorials and dress pattern, i made about 5 dresses with it for my pullips and used a smaller version for my Pukifee. Kind regards, Meike (from Amsterdam).

I'm not good at renaming dolls, even when there's more than one of a sculpt. But maybe I'll have to this time.
