the Wolf Returns

A little while later, they heard a noise behind them, and turned to look...
Picture
... the wolf was back...
Picture
...and he had someone with him....
Picture
"Are you two okay??"
Picture
"Don't be afraid. This is my dog Max. He came running home, and was barking so loud trying to get my attention, so I'd follow him....and it looks like a good thing that I did"
Picture
"I hurt my foot, and can't get up."
"We saw Max a little while ago, and we thought he was a wolf...
.....I was afraid he was going to eat us."
Picture
"Yes he does look like wolf.  His father was a wolf, but he's the best dog I've ever had.
Now let's take a little look at your foot..."
Picture
"It does look swollen....
I guess I should introduce myself. My name is Nick, and I live not far from here.... "
Picture
"I think we need to get you out of the snow, and take a better look at your foot.
My cabin isn't too far. "
Picture
So he gave his lantern to Hans, and picked up Elora...
Picture
Picture
And they headed together through the snow...
Picture
"We'll get you all dry and warmed up, then I'll go find your parents..."

*That brings us to the end of Chapter One, where the story is presented in its entirety up to this point in Favourite Photos 2021. More chapters will be added as we go through them.

Phew, help came just in time, I‘m glad😊.
That’s such a sweet story, I’m looking forward to the next chapter. And it’s always a real treat to see your fantastic costumes and all the love that’s going into making them and the photos too - not to mention the hard work...

Thanks. I've really been enjoying putting it together. In fact I just shot the final scenes. I will continue posting a bit each day, and when we get to the end of chapter two, I will put it up in Favourite Photos 2021, just like the first part. Eventually it will be one continuous story.

This is really so great, Martha. I love the whole concept of you bringing a favorite story to life with your dolls. I've always wanted to do something like that. I really admire how you get an idea in your head and make it happen. Plus, you have so many fabulous skills to realize your visions. Good grief, how long did it take to shoot all these photos? I hope you didn't catch a cold!

Thanks. I started taking photos the first week of December, and took the last scenes the other day, although there is still one shot I have in my mind that I'd like to add to a scene in chapter four (there's seven chapters) But it needs that same kind of snowfall again, and those are usually pretty rare.

I did get soaked from the snow twice, even though I had a tarp to sit and lay down on. I did get a bit of a sniffle after the first time, but I had my flu shot last fall, so it didn't get bad.

The worst winter photo shoot was at the ruins gardens, since it was really wet snow and melting fast, falling in big wet clumps out of the trees. Then I went and twisted my ankle in the woods there, and wasn't able to walk for a few weeks.
