Lawrence let David hold his sword.....

'How come you get to hold it first?"

" I want a turn too!"

So Lawrence let him try....

But it was just too big and heavy for him...

...and there was no way he could hold it upright without some help...

Ringo was so disappointed...

So Lawrence suggested he could just stand and strike a pose with it instead....

Ringo felt so proud. He felt like he could be one of his dad's knights....

...and he continued to pose with the sword as I took a picture of him with David and their sisters....

I am glad that Lawrence has his eye on Ringo, as the sword is almost as big as he is. David looks so sweet and happy to be standing with his father.

Yes, that is one big sword. It was actually made by a blacksmith (Donna's brother) who forged it from a huge nail.

I think Ringo could use some wooden toy swords to practice with until he gets bigger.

Lawrence makes a great father! Regal, but patient and loving at the same time.

Ringo is a hoot! I laughed out loud when he wanted to know why David got to hold the sword first. David is a very kind (and possibly long suffering) big brother :o)

Lawrence doesn't have a lot of choice. With Ringo as his son, he's just going to have to make the best of it.

It's interesting how three of my favourite dolls - Lawrence, Ringo and David - all ended up together in one family. I certainly never planned it that way. But just having Ringo back in Medieval/Renaissance times will make for some interesting story possibilities. He always makes me smile.
