Welcome. little one! This story is so, so lovely.

I love how you've created a master bedroom for Iris and Steve, and just everything else about the story!

Thank you!

I wanted some bedroom scenes, and had been wracking my brain trying to figure out how to set one up and make a believable Victorian 'bed'. The big sticking point was some kind of headboard. I had been eyeing the bottom of my dining room china cabinets, but hate setting scenes up on the floor. I was in way too much pain for that.

So yesterday I decided to make do, took down the Nursery room on my table, and used the blue sofa pushed up against the fireplace to suggest a headboard against a wall. The rest of the 'bed' is a plastic record player cover that was just the right size. I did sew the lace-edged sheet, and pillow cases, which fit around the pillows from the BID travel doll boxes. I went through my box of velours looking for a suitable bed cover, and this magenta one seemed perfect. It's a good thing the 'bed' only had to look comfortable, since it certainly wouldn't have been.

I emptied the 'china' cabinet and filled it with folded washcloths and handkerchiefs to suggest blankets and bedding. Basically making do at every turn. I thought it looked rather good.

I think you did an excellent job giving the impression of a lovely Victorian master bedroom and bed. The backing really does give the illusion of one of those big high-backed beds of the era. We had a (real) one in our family from the 1850's and the wood and moldings had a very similar look to what you gave up with!

Thanks! In the end I just had to fake it, and am glad it turned out looking authentic.
