the Morgan Horse

One of the days in Albuquerque was spent doing laundry and shopping. I'd read about the Battat horses for Our Generation Dolls on DOA so had wanted to find a Target store to see if they had any. Well, we found a Target, and sure enough, they had several different horses and colts, and lots of great accessory packages. I chose the Morgan Horse, a matching colt, and two accessory packages - the Picnic and Camping ones.

I opened the accessory packages right away. There were all kinds of great things - a picnic basket,  cups and plates, cutlery, a water bottle and jug of milk, and all kinds of food. I sorted and bagged everything and put it all away into my Props box. The horses were too big to fit in any cupboards, so they just stayed in their boxes.

The next day, we were passing through the Valley of Fire in southern New Mexico - a desolate stretch of cracked black lava dotted with cacti and yucca - and I thought the roadside stop there would be a good place to unpack the horse and see how it worked with my dolls.....

I was really pleased..., and so were Leona and Peach....

Oh yes!
What a perfect size for your gang *yippee* and what fun to be able to use it straight away too!

I can imagine all kinds of interesting photo opportunities using a horse.

What a great little horse! She's just about the scale a Haflinger would be and is perfect for your girls!! Is she as posable as all those joints suggest?

As always, your photos are a real treat!

I didn't even notice the joints when she was in the box, but they aren't really that useful. But then I haven't really tried playing with her much. What I'd really have liked is if the head would go up and down. Now that would be nice.

I have enjoyed your beautiful creations, dolls and blog entries for awhile. I live in Albuquerque, and have been to Santa Fe and Taos many times. I enjoyed seeing your exceptional photos of the Balloon Fiesta and of your adventures here in New Mexico. Thanks for adding them to your blog!

Thanks! New Mexico is such a wonderful place! We've been there several times, but always in the spring or fall. I can't imagine how hot it must get in the summer.

Anyway, there's still plenty more New Mexico doll adventures coming!
