the Little Pastry Chef

Tomorrow is Tillie's 'birthday' and Cinnamon asked if she could make a cake. I said to go
ahead, and she's been very busy all day. When i asked if she needed any help, she politely
refused, saying she knew what she was doing, and had everything under control....

I think Cinnamon did an amazing job! Who knew she was so talented?
I think Tillie will be very pleased.

After she was done, she said she changed her mind, and could use some help after all. I sent her to get cleaned up, but she hasn't come back - I think she went out to play.

I guess I better go clean up the huge mess, so I can make dinner.

This is just too funny!!! Cinnamon is an adorable and talented (although not too neat) pastry chef. Tillie will be delighted with her cake :o)

What did you use for all that splattered batter?

The 'cake batter' is a mixture of Bisquick, cocoa, and water. The pale pink 'icing' is drywall compound. The cake layers are pink styrofoam, covered with drywall compound, then sanded and painted. Stars, cherries, and the bow are polymer clay. The light blue, pale pink and dark chocolate 'icing' is drywall compound mixed with paint. The blue stars are real sprinkles, but they've absorbed moisture from the drywall compound and varnish, so have turned soft. I'm hoping they will dry eventually.

I've decided it's time to do a Tutorial on making these cakes.

I think this is so funny! Bless her.....she was so determined to make this cake all by herself!
But I think you are going to have to make sure she has a bath tonight! LOL!

Poor you being left with the washing up though.....heheheheee ((^_^))

Cinnamon is such a funny little doll, and she has the personality to always be getting into things like this.

Yes, she needed a good washing, and I even had to shampoo her wig.

This messy photo-shoot had the most clean-up ever!

I meant to mention that Cinnamon's cake looks like it would be perfect for the Mad Hatter's tea party!

It would, wouldn't it? First I was even thinking of leaving her as a fairy and doing a cake like in Disney's animated Sleeping Beauty - totally lop sided, held up by a broom, and icing dripping everywhere - but I didn't feel like putting the effort in for a one-time-use cake like that.

Cinnamon did a great job, but she should take a shower first. :-) The cake looks fantastic.
