the Gown Fits!

6/3/2017

dI've been seriously reconsidering whether or not to proceed with my FID couple, as life has become one endless parade of doctor's visits, and medical appointments. Any quite honestly, I feel worse than ever. So I decided I wasn't sure I wanted the stress of another set of 'stand alone' dolls. I really love my JIDs, KIDs, and BIDs, and the way most of my other MSDs work with them. But the FIDs just don't work with them, especially not the guys with their mega huge muscle-man bodies and tiny pin-heads.

I've already discovered that the tuxedo I bought for my FID guy at Christmas, fits my JID guys, so that wasn't a 'waste'.  But there was still that beautiful dress I'd spent most of February and March making for Miho. I could keep Miho just to model that dress.....but if it fit my JID girls, then I'd know it would be fine to just get rid of the two FIDs.        And sure enough, the dress fit.....

It fit perfectly fine, although the main skirt was a touch long. It might not look quite as 'elegant'
as it does on Miho, who is a little taller, but high heels would add a little to her height, and with her feet being almost exactly the same size, the heels I already have would work just fine.

I know I had waited a LONG time for Iplehouse to come out with more mature-looking medium height dolls, and I bought one the first day they were released. But she's been here since last September, and I was in no rush to have her painted. Then I bought a guy to be her companion, and he arrived in January. But still I didn't get them painted.  I think in the end, I prefer the JIDs. They may be more 'squat' with more 'dolly' proportions, but that's fine with me. I have a lot of dolls, and prefer to stick with the ones I have. So I guess the decision is made.

Well done on the decision about the FID dolls..........I love a more dolly-like aesthetic myself too. Always have and always will.

I am so pleased that this dress fits Isis ....it is a stunning outfit.

I thought I'd like the more realistic FIDs, and the ladies are okay, but I'm not fond of the guys at all. However, they just won't fit with all my other dolls. And a whole new line of dolls totally stresses me out, so what's the point?

Isis is beautiful and she is stunning in that gown!

I agree ... your decision to stay with the JIDs and sell the FIDs makes sense. The FIDs may be beautiful, but the JIDs are just as attractive and more personable somehow. You create such great stories with all your small dolls!

Miho would have looked amazing in this dress, but it just doesn't seem worth it to me to have just another 'display doll'. I just wish Iplehouse would release some more mature-looking JID guys. I even suggested to them that now that they are so expert at shrinking existing larger sculpts to FID size, maybe they can shrink some not quite so much, so we can have some gorgeous JID guys too. But they said 'No'.

And of the four JID guys they still offer, only Owen is even remotely mature-looking. So I guess I'll just have to get a second one.

I understand your feelings. The FID are different and if you don't feel happy with them, it's better to let them go.
Isis looks adorable in the dress. Even the color is perfect.

She looks lovely in this dress. You did a great job on it.

What about keeping Miho's body and putting a JID head on it?

That's a thought too, as she's the one I would have the most difficulty parting with. Only problem is that it's very difficult to get just a JID head. I wish I'd ordered Cecile's head when it was possible to do so when she was discontinued earlier this year. I did think about it. But not long enough obviously.
