The King had made him aware that Baron's wife was with child and due to deliver at any time, so that evening after dinner, the Doctor asked Naomi how she felt about letting him examine her, in private in her and Baron's apartment.
"How have you been feeling, My Lady?"

"I've been feeling quite well, although the baby has been moving an awful lot..."

"So I'm not getting much sleep, and I'm getting very tired."

Naomi sat down so the doctor could examine her. She had been rather surprised when he had pulled out a stethoscope. But she couldn't let on that she knew what it was.

"That's an interesting contraption you have there. Do all you doctors have one?"

"No, they don't My Lady. I was given this one by a mysterious traveller once, many years ago. He claimed that he was from the future, and said it was called a stethoscope, and that it's used to listen to a patient's heart. Of course I didn't believe that he came from the future, but I have found it to be incredibly useful."

"So, let's take a listen to your baby's heart."

"Hmmmm.... You say the baby has been kicking a lot?"

Baron watched as the Doctor moved his stethoscope over Naomi's belly...

Naomi became concerned, "Is everything okay Doctor?"

"Yes it is. And now I know why you've been experiencing so much kicking."

"I'm detecting two heart beats. You are carrying twins."

Naomi wasn't all that surprised. "That's wonderful news."
On some level she had already suspected it. But without the benefit of modern medicine she couldn't be sure.
"Do you think you could stay at the castle here with us until my time comes, and help deliver the babies? I'd feel more comfortable with a skilled doctor nearby."

"Yes, of course, My Lady. I'd be more than happy to."

"The babies have dropped and are in position, so they can come anytime now."

Twins! How wonderful. She is not surprised so there must be twins in her family? But I did see a photo of her with Baron in favorite pictures that only showed her holding one baby?

Twins could also run in Baron's family.

The only time I know of that Naomi has ever appeared in photos with babies was back in Behind the Scenes last year when the BJD toddler versions arrived, and when I found a cradle at a doll show. And Baron hasn't ever. Maybe you're thinking of someone else, like Iris and Steve as the King and Queen in the White Cat back story.

I'm sure it's Naomi and Baron. I went your web page and under favorite photos for 2023 I ssrolles down and saw the one picture. She is in bed holding a baby and Batonis sitting on the edge of the bed beside her looking on. She's wearing the light blue dress. I just checked to make sure I was not mistaken. There it was.

Okay, now I know what photo you saw. It's the title thumbnail place-holder for the current part of the story about the birth of the twins. There's no link connected to it yet until I get to the end of this chapter, and then there will be a link attached so everyone can see the entire chapter in proper order as opposed to scrolling backwards through the Blog posts. I probably shouldn't have put it up quite so soon.

The blessings for Baron just keep on coming: an escape from danger, a loving adoptive mother, a beautiful and caring wife, a handsome newly discovered father, and two children almost born! He has much to celebrate.

Baron and Naomi's story grows ever more compelling with each episode. The two of them have had such an interesting and unusual life together so far.

The excitement grows...twins!! Their arrival will brighten the lives of their parents and grandparents. Life in the castle will be lively in the years ahead.

It is intriguing that Naomi is not the only traveler in time...

Thanks, but I'm not going down that rabbit hole. I just needed a reason why the doctor would have a stethoscope, and that was the only thing I could come up with.
