I finally finished the two gowns for the larger Iplehouse ladies. I'm thrilled with how they turned out, so had to take a picture of Asa and Carina in the studio right away. And share it, of course..... The gowns are made from three scarves that I found at Value Village - a gorgeous, beaded, blue Indian shawl, a crinkled gold scarf, and a sheer blue/purple/turquoise scarf.... I hand-embellished the bodices to match the skirts, and glued sequins onto the hanging sleeves so they'd match the sequins all over the skirts. I'm calling them 'Starry Night'.

Martha, does this mean that now that the gowns are finished there is going to be a ball? I love a ball!

No ball. I don't have enough this size doll for a ball. But I do plan to take lots of photos.

They are absolutely beautiful and 'Starry Night' is the perfect name for them!

Thanks! The deep blue with all the sparkling sequins reminded me of the the Jim Henson Storyteller episode, where the princess Sapsorrow asked for a gown "sparkling like the stars". The style is completely different, but the overall feel is the same.
