Some More B&W Photos

I had planned on taking some new photos today, but time got away from me and now it's too dark to do it. So, I'm posting a few more black and white photos, this time with my Kaye Wiggs girls. In the first two photos they are wearing dresses repurposed from my daughter's and my own baby dresses. The KW girls don't look quite as "real" as my little Iplehouse girls, but they are still cute.

Went to Value Village this afternoon and scored some nice props for photos. I also picked up several baby onesies with tiny all-over prints and stripes, for just 99 cents each, that I can cut up to make into T-shirts to go with some summery overalls or sundresses.

the sad girls work really well in black and white. Just like old photos of people where they never seem to smile - even when doing happy things.

I love these B&W photos and I love the outfits you have made for them, but I particularly like that you have used beloved dresses from childhood *happy memories* for you.

And well done on the shopping trip.....it sounds like a good one!

Thanks! I figured the old baby dresses wouldn't mean anything to anyone but me, and would never be worn by anyone ever again, so what was the point saving them forever in boxes in the basement? I actually ordered my first Kaye Wiggs doll - Layla - with the specific intention of remaking the baby dresses for her. In the middle photo above, she's wearing the white dress with the red embroidered chickies, which is made from the dress I wore to a wedding when I was just three and a half.

The other three girls in the Tea Party picture are all wearing dresses remade from ones I made for my daughter when she was a baby. I cut them apart and remade them in the exact same style as the originals.

Well I think that is just a brilliant idea and so much better than having the dresses wrapped up and hidden in a box (like I have done with my daughter's baby dresses!)

And how adorable did you look when you were three and half in that little chickie dress?!
