So, now it's clean up time .... and get back to work making more doll clothes.....
Just came back from two weeks down south, and even though I took two dolls along, there wasn't much opportunity for doll photography. Between the heat, humidity, crowds and general lack of suitable photo settings, I only came across one spot which might have worked - if it hadn't been for the fierce wind. I had borrowed a sash and pistol from one of my cloth dolls back at home so Rosy would look suitably "pirate-like", but the wind made her hair totally uncontrollable. I managed to take just four shots of Rosy before she went down face-first in the sand. So I gave up. Florida was interesting to see for once - it was my first time there - and I'm glad I went. It's the closest thing I'll ever get to 'Caribbean', with all the palm trees, hibiscus hedges, tiki huts, long sandy white beaches, and bougainvillea spilling over the old Spanish architecture. Key West especially was a tropical paradise. One of the biggest highlights of the trip was the day spent at the Kennedy Space Center. Even with the gantry doors closed the sight of Endeavor out on the launch pad for it's final flight brought a lump to my throat. The Apollo/Saturn V Center was also truly amazing! I've always loved space exploration, and seeing it all for real was a total thrill! Florida is definitely a beautiful, unique place. Georgia and South Carolina were beautiful too with their antebellum mansions, and live oaks dripping with Spanish moss. But I was glad to get back home to where it's cooler and experience my own spring all over again.
