And that effort includes constantly having to vacuum, since there's sequins EVERYWHERE!!!
I'm working on 'holiday' dresses for Kaye Wiggs girls, and am already fed up with all the sequins on the fabrics. Last week I made a dress for my granddaughter's doll, and another for a KW doll.... ...and now I'm working on turning four sequinned scarves into party dresses.... I started by making two dresses out of the pink scarf... ...and now I'm working on the black lace with silver sequins. My goal is to have all the dresses up for sale by the end of the month, but working with sequinned fabric is a royal pain. It's important to remove any and all sequins that will be within the seam allowance or stitch line, or the sewing machine needle will get dull - or break - and the sequins stuck in the seam allowance will stick out in directions you don't want. So, they all have to come off, and that's way easier said than done.... After removing the sequins, I dab a bit of Gemtack glue onto the thread ends to keep them from unravelling any further. It's a LOT of work, but I'm determined, so it's worth the effort.
And that effort includes constantly having to vacuum, since there's sequins EVERYWHERE!!!

Thanks! The pink ones turned out really nice. Next are the black with silver sequins. Then two blues.

I am a big fan of the turquoise and black, particularly the big hair adornments. They look like flowers. Beautiful!

Thanks! It looks like a big turquoise poppy. There will be black with blue coming as well.

Thanks! My goal is to finish the eight dresses, and then I'm free to do what I want for Christmas. Comments are closed.
