The other day when we had so much snow, I was trying to come up with something new to photograph - instead of always the same old thing. I thought maybe two girls making their way home from school. So I pulled out the backpacks and took the girls outside, and took a photo in one of my usual places.....there's not a lot of choice in my backyard.... Okay I guess, but I really wanted something a bit different. It was 3:30 and the school down the street should be getting out, which meant several school buses going past my house. So I conscripted Jan, who was working from home that day, to come out front and hold the dolls while I waited for a school bus to come by. I tried to ignore the neighbours who were out shovelling their driveways. We didn't have to wait long, a bus very soon came around the corner. I had to shoot fast, since the bus wasn't exactly going to 'stop and pose' for me - so there was no time for careful positioning - just aim and shoot, and hope for the best. I got three pictures.... I had to shoot fast, so there was no time to change poses.... Then a quick spin around to catch the bus heading down to the school.... I was really happy with my 'Schoolgirls' photos. So much more interesting and realistic.

Thanks! I guess it all comes down to what you care about most - getting an interesting picture, or the stares of the neighbours.

Thanks! I really love the school bus photos too, and think I really need to try do more with my dolls fitting into real life situations.

Your little school girls are so cute! You are brave to ignore the stares of the neighbors - it's not easy to do - even with nice neighbors, but your photos are worth the effort :o)

Just wondering if anyone else is having trouble accessing this blog this week? So far I have tried using three different computers and three different browsers and the best I can see is a text only version with no pictures. The pictures are the best part :(

I'm glad you are enjoying the photos, but unfortunately I'm no help with tech issues.

Thank you! That's a good idea. I do submit photos from time to time, even if most of the time all the attention there goes to sexy photos of the semi-clad larger dolls.

I've never been able to understand why it is that so many people seem to enjoy dolls as sexual - and it's seems to mostly female dolls too. I'm thinking that the vast majority of collectors are female, so what then is the attraction of a sexually provocative female doll? It's such an odd thing for me when I find I have to flick out of a doll site when my kids come in the room. Comments are closed.
