Sailing Boats

We took some of the kids down to the lake last night so they could sail their boats.

The lake was a bit rough, but we found a stream with some quiet pools.....

The Spanish Galleon is a Value Village find, the small schooner was purchased at the lighthouse
gift shop at Peggy's Cove, and the sailboat is an ornament from a Christmas Shop in Santa Fe.

What fabulous photos of the trip to the lake......they had such fun!
I do admire how adventurous you are with your gang.

Just going to look at the photos again.

Lonnie is the one who had the biggest 'adventure'. She was in that top photo too, but then a wave came along and made the sand unstable where she was standing - so she went head first into the stream. No damage, but she was drenched and covered with sand. When we got home I stripped her, wiped her down, and washed all her clothes and her wig.

Well, when you take the dolls out for photos as much as I do, accidents are bound to happen now and then.

I love how you aren't afraid to really enjoy your dolls. They... and you...have some great adventures!

The very first few times my dolls had accidents, I nearly had a heart attack - including the time poor Elin fell into the water and was swept down the rapids. But they can take quite a lot, and in my opinion, they are meant to be played with. They can always get repainted, and Charie has fixed a dent on Ryung's face after she did a face-plant on some rocks. It's not that I'm a risk-taker - I am very careful - but accidents do happen.

These are just so incredible! I just can't think of enough good things to say. What a fantastic group of shots! I've always wanted to do some photos involving water. Brava, Martha!

You always make your kids look so real, it's easy to forget how small they really are. Hearing that the sailboat is a Christmas ornament puts their size into perspective, and shows how good you are at illusion!
