Rosie in Gold

4/24/2020

I had Yvette's golden gown just lying around, and decided to try it on Rosie, since she was standing all by herself in the display case, stuck back in Outlander time....
Picture
I thought maybe she could be a Lady in Waiting to the Queen, but she doesn't look the part. I did some photos of the two Raccoon ladies together....
Picture
That's when the difference between the two of them really struck me.  I've always loved Monica, and felt she fitted in fine with my Iplehouse crew. Maybe it's her wider open eyes.  Rosie's eyes, on the other hand, are narrower and more squinted.....
Picture
.... and make her look like her thoughts are elsewhere and she's planning something, and not necessarily something good.  She definitely does not look like Lady-in-Waiting material.
Picture
In fact I'm finding the golden gown deceptively 'innocent' looking on her. Maybe she needs something darker?  And then she can be the Queen's sister.  Maybe even an evil sister. I don't know. I'm still trying to figure some of these ladies out.
Picture
Then I took a photo of my entire medieval group....
Picture
The only doll missing is Miho. At some point she will need something Medieval as well, so she can fit in too. I just don't know what.....yet.

Maybe you could try the golden gown on Miho? That way, if you liked it, you would only have to make one more medieval gown. They all look amazing together.

I was going to try it on her, but it won't fit Miho. She has the bigger 'Athletic' body.

Plus the gold wouldn't suit her angular features either. I think Miho would do better as a sorceress in something dark and dramatic.

But I'm not in a hurry. I have some KID and BID Medieval outfits to make first.

Ah, I’d forgotten the FID ladies had two body options. I’d love to see something sorceress-esque, perhaps in dark burgundy leaning towards the purple side? Maybe the gold gown can be set aside and used if you do medieval wedding photos. ;)

The ironic thing is that I was inspired by Lucretia's wedding gown in 'the Borgias', and that's exactly what the gold gown may end up being a wedding gown.

Oh well, my box with Fashion size costumes is rather full, so Rosie will just have to keep wearing it for now.

Rosie has always struck me as having a very "supermodel" or "movie star" type of face. (I think it's the jawline/cheekbones.) I don't think she likes being overshadowed by a Queen!

P.S. Some of the images at http://www.antiquelilac.com/outlander-claire---gallery-2019.html aren't quite right -- I see Littlest Pet Shop and a fairy.

Thanks for pointing out those misplaced photos. I finally figured out why it happens, and thought I'd found them all. So betetr go fix them.

I see what you mean about Rosie's eyes and dreamy look. She is a beauty and I am sure she will work wherever you put her.

She's just been taking a little while to figure out, but I'm sure I'll get there

I immediately saw her as visiting royalty or nobility, sussing out the situation and ready to make the most of it!

Rosie looks splendid in the gold. She looks very regal but not above plotting to get what she wants. She could be Rex's sister, visiting the court at her brother's invitation to assess the possible marriage situation. She's had a look around and she's thinking there are not enough eligible men.

I see her more as Monica's sister, since they are both Raccoon dolls.

And no there definitely aren't enough eligible guys. In fact there are none. All three I have are already taken. And the next guy I order will already have been claimed as well.

She does look quite beautiful in the golden gown, but definitely with something not-so-beautiful on her mind! Lady-in-waiting might describe her, but not in the way that title is usually thought of!

Maybe Rosie and Monica could switch gowns? Rosie would definitely make a great sorcerer or evil queen or something. Another option is to slight open Rosie's eyes. But then you'd have to get the faceup redone. But still, it's nice to have options.
