Ringo's Gift

Ringo had been waiting patiently to give his gift....

"I made you something too..."

"...and I made it all by myself.....with no help from anyone..."

'Well, let's have a look then...."

Lawrence unwrapped Ringo's gift...

..and smiled at his son...."This is awesome....Thank you!"

"Do you really like it?"

"Yes I do..."

"You are becoming quite the little artist.......our family has never looked so good..."

"I love it!"

"Tomorrow I'm going to hang it in my office..."

"For now I'll just put it right here..."

Paige leaned over and whispered to Nami....

"Do we really look like that??"

Monica came over...."That's such a cute picture. He even drew you waving that little wooden sword you made for him last year..."

"It's priceless! I'm going to hang it in my office, and whenever I'm having a bad day, all I'll need to do is look at it to remind me what's most important to me. "

"That's a wonderful idea. But right now we should get dressed and go down for breakfast. It's going to be a very busy day."

What a wonderful way to show the most important things there are for a family - love, understanding, and affirmation.

My guess was only partly right. I thought Ringo's gift might be a portrait of his Dad. His picture is far better than that :o)

I did originally think of Ringo doing a portrait of his Dad, and even printed out a photo to use as inspiration, but I changed my mind that it should be the whole family. Then, because there's no way I can draw like a little kid, I asked Jan to do it, and he did it completely from memory. It totally looks like a five year old's drawing of their family, and it makes me smile every time I look at it.

Yes, Ringo is adorable.

Thank you! I know real royal families would never be this casual, but I didn't care. It's my doll world, and I just wanted to focus on a private, morning gift giving. I'm sure the rest of the day would have been full of public pageantry and celebration, but I decided to just leave all that to the imagination.

Well, you got me again (laugh). I did not know what the gift would be.

I love the idea. Ringo (aka Jan) is very talented.

I think the King is very proud of all of his children.
