Red Sneakers

7/21/2017

Several of the kids helped themselves to a pair of the new shoes, and started putting them on....
Picture
Ringo wasn't happy that Nyssa beat him to the red sneakers, and he was stuck with the black ones
Picture
He had really wanted those red sneakers....
Picture
Aaron, Nyssa and Holly were all happy with their choices....
Picture
But Ringo just couldn't let go of wanting the red sneakers....
Picture
Aaron and Holly thought he was making far too big a fuss over nothing...
Picture
But Nyssa felt bad, and decided she wouldn't be able to enjoy them knowing Ringo
wanted them so badly. So she took them off and offered them to him....
Picture
Ringo quickly grabbed the red sneakers, and left - before Nyssa could change her mind....

Of course I gave Ringo a little talking to, and made him give the red sneakers back.  It was nice of Nyssa to offer them to him, but it wasn't nice of him to go on and on, and make her feel so guilty about having chosen the red ones first. He might as well get used to the fact that in life we often don't get what we want.

And on that note - I'm wondering why so many of the photos in this post are so 'green'.  The originals on my desktop aren't. Weebly must be doing something again. Like I said, when there's other people involved, things don't necessarily turn out like we want. That's life.

You've just got to love Ringo!!! This story so cute. Poor Ringo, but it is a lesson he needs to learn. Yet that sad little pout makes you want to say, "well may be he could learn it next time"

I did originally intend for him to get the red sneakers in the end, but after taking the photos, I decided that it just wasn't right to take them from Nyssa. I have two granddaughters exactly like that - one always wants things her own way, and will pout and throw a tantrum if she doesn't get it. She's the one who inspired me to get Ringo in the first place. And a second granddaughter, the same age, who doesn't like to see the other one upset, always gives in and gives her her own things, even when it isn't the pouty girl's turn. We don't like it, but unfortunately we can't really reprimand the kind one for her big heart. So, I can't do much about it in real life, but Ringo isn't going to become a manipulative narcisist.

I agree! Maybe you could even have Ringo bring Nyssa a flower or take her for a ride in his wagon to say he's sorry :o)

Add me to the list of those who were delighted to see you reign Ringo in!
And I like Donna's idea of him having to show he is sorry too!

Oh this was a brilliant story and such fun to read right down to the rebuke to Ringo at the end.....hahahahahaa!
You really have made this sculpt come wholly to life.....you are so clever
