Recreating a Snowstorm

12/6/2020

After taking all those photos up in the snow on Thursday, I realized I'd forgotten to take most of the close-ups.  So we went back up again yesterday, before too much of the snow melted.  Of course it wasn't snowing anymore, so in order to be consistent with the photos taken the previous day, during a heavy snowfall, we had to improvise....

Like shaking a sieve full of snow over the dolls....

And because the photos were all close-ups, I could put the dolls up on things - like that tree stump - so I wouldn't have to get down on the ground.

And one more photo of Lawrence, just because Jan's little blizzard made him look so good....

We went from place to place, taking hand held close-ups of everyone who needed one, as well as a few missing full length shots,  always with a little added snow....

I am so very happy to see you and Jan out making stories together again, after the huge anxiety of his illness earlier in the year. And especially happy to see him doing wonderfully strange but effective things like sieving snow over a doll on a tree stump!

LOL Thanks! I'm glad we can go out on location again. It was rather frustrating being stuck at home for over six months.

Looks like Jan's becoming a special effects artist!

Make it snow, make it snow, make it snow... to the tune of "Let It Snow" started running through my head as soon as I saw your photo of Jan sieving snow over Lawrence.
Your dedication to getting photos just right is amazing, and you two are a great team!

LOL. Yes, but it's what I have to do to get continuity when photos aren't shot in story order.

I love how Jan is "making" snow fall.

One has to do what one has to do, to make photos look like they were all taken at the same time.
