Pretty in Pinks

6/25/2014

I finished the five new KID sundress sets a few days ago, but it's not been good weather for taking photos. Yesterday was terribly warm and humid, and I saw the field with clovers had been mowed, so now I have to wait until they regrow. Today it's all wet and rainy, but I did take two of the girls out into the light drizzle for a quick photo.  Here's Lonnie and Lisa modelling their favourites....

I made two new Favourite Photos albums first thing this morning - one with all the Flower Fairy photos, and a second with the new Special Days.  Just click on the photo below to go to the Flower Fairy album...

Edited 06/26: Yesterday Weebly made several changes to their website programs. They removed the Columns option, and changed several of the Basic Tools. As a result of the new changes, all the images that were uploaded were impacted, showing up way larger, and out-of-focus. After trying several times to find a way around the problem, I finally contacted Weebly. They told me their developers were aware of the problem with the image sizing and were working to fix it. Today everything is back to normal. At first I thought I'd leave yesterday's post as it was, but I just couldn't live with the super-huge, out-of-focus images, so have edited my post and replaced the photos with proper sized ones.

I'm really loving all of your recent photos of Elin in her fairy outfit.

This probably doesn't help, but I was playing around with the developer tools in my browser and setting the photos to 70%-80% width instead of 100% (which is what they are set at by default) brings back the sharpness.

I've never used Weebly, so I don't know how these values get set, but it looks like they are getting stretched past their actual size which is causing pixilation. If you want them larger, you could consider uploading them bigger, or seeing if you can set the size to a different percent?

And by 100% width, I mean column width rather than photo width. I don't think you would have this problem if it was setting the width relative to the photos actual size.

Computer stuff is so far over my head, but I looked around as best I could to see if there was a way to fix the image size. My original photos are 500 pixels wide, but here in the Blog they pop in at 653. Even worse is in the actual web pages, where the image fills the entire width of the page at 878 pixels wide. There's no way to reduce the image size without the image going green.

Hmm... yeah I see what you mean about the green tinge. That's super weird.

The bigger images are showing up at 700px wide for me if that is useful at all. Wish I could help more. :( Hopefully you can find a work-around.

Maybe no consolation, but on my IPad the large photos are wonderful and crisp, and I'm unable to see the difference in colour in the smaller two.

Maybe it's because an IPad has a much smaller screen. It's showing up on my husband's computer the same as it is here for me.

I certainly feel your frustration. I find the same with Flickr. They are always making "improvements" that are just not improvements at all.

Same with my upgraded computer system - it's like going backwards - it requires way more work to get the same results from before. At least the photos are working properly here again. The rest I just have to live with.

Thank you for showing the sweet fairy-photos. Elin looks so sweet in her beautiful outfit. The photo where she offers the clovers to the rabbits, is so cute.

Well I am lucky and have come to the edited photos so everything I see is beautiful.....lovely, lovely new outfits and another perfect flower fairy shot too! I would swear to seeing her actually on her top-toes here!
So clever!

And let's hope there are no more upgrades that foisted on you before they have been properly checked for *bugs*
